... and no sleep from the night before, left me like this....

Somewhere between Medicine Hat & Brooks, it was time for a break. My wrists felt like I jerked of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.... AND THEIR FANS. Knees were getting sore, and OMG was I ever tired.
I got to learn what REAL wind sheer is on this trip. One minute the wind is blowing left, and in an instant, it blows to the right. Interesting when your slammin' down the highway, and suddenly your bike wants to jump the other direction and then back in a matter of 2 seconds. Sure keeps you awake though. At least until you pull over.
Overall the trip was fun. Once you take away the rain, the wind, and the roadkill...

Suzuki bikes rock.. drove a hayabusa once and it was crazy.

Friends bike. 1300 cc and tricked out. I can't imagine what the turbo version is like, 500 hp.

I have a funny feeling we will have Busa's by next summer... :D A little heavier and faster. Being heavier bikes, they would be a little better with the wind sheer.

Not necessarily true, Jenn.

I have 35 years riding experience and have experienced heavy wind gusts many times. One time in northern New York state my friends and I rode through winds that were classified as hurricane strength (there was a hurricane warning in effect) - the winds were so bad the bridges over the Saint Lawrence river were closed and we couldn't get back to Canada until the winds died down hours later. Anyway my friend on a Yamaha Venture (discontinued big touring bike, like a Goldwing) was literally white as a ghost and shaking like a leaf when we pulled over at a gas station...whereas I had way less problems with the wind. The reason? The Venture had lots of plastic bodywork and my bike didn't. The winds caught the bodywork like a sail and blew the big heavy Venture all over the place.

That is why yours and your hubby's bike were blown around...the bodywork/fairings. A 'Busa will be affected the same in the same winds...maybe a little less because of its weight or maybe not as it has even more bodywork for the wind to catch than the SV and GSXR.

Glad you made it home safe and sound!

mischievousmave I know you know your bikes, so I have to ask. Do you know off the top of your head, what the dry weight of a 2008 Busa is? I know the SV is 375lbs. but I can't remember the weight of the Busa.
