Around a decade ago I decided to take on a new skill I thought would be unique to learn, which was being a sword swallower. I have been in the entertainment industry since I was a child with my dad being a professional musician, and thought this would be an interesting new skill to learn, but after a while my friends got concerned for my safety, so I didn’t continue it, but hey, those skills learning this led me to be able to deepthroat dicks, so I thought I would share these steps here… for science (of course)!

To deepthroat you only need to get to step 4, and to be able to control your gag reflex. I was able to get to step 5, where yes I can control my upper esophageal sphincter, but this isn’t easy and it takes a lot of concentration to do it, and where I need to be very relaxed, to relax that muscle. But it’s difficult to keep it open long. So here are the steps, once again in the name of science.

The Step-by-Step Technique to Swallow Swords or Dicks

1. Desensitize the Gag Reflex: Novices practice for months by regularly touching or brushing the back of the throat with small objects like spoons, paintbrushes, or fingers to reduce sensitivity.

2. Start with Safe Tools: Beginners never use a sharp blade; they typically start with small blunt objects, wooden spoons, or a bent, smoothed metal coat hanger shaped into a straight line.

3. Align the Body: The performer tilts the head back and hyper-extends the neck, tucking or positioning the chin to pull the mouth, pharynx, and flexible esophagus into a nearly vertical straight line with the spine.

4. Lubricate the Instrument: The blade is coated with saliva, vegetable oil, or lubricating jelly to ensure it slides smoothly past sensitive tissue.

5. Relax the Sphincter: The performer consciously relaxes the upper esophageal sphincter (cricopharyngeus muscle), which is normally an involuntary muscle, allowing the blunt tip to enter.

6. Descent Past Vital Organs: The rigid blade is gently guided down the esophagus, straightening its natural curves. It passes within millimeters of critical organs like the heart, lungs, and aorta before resting near or inside the cardiac opening of the stomach.

7. Controlled Withdrawal: The sword is slowly and steadily pulled straight back up the exact path it entered, requiring absolute stillness and focus to avoid internal tearing.
