I have spent considerable time in China, and a succulent meal has never come to mind.
A perfectly heated cup of green tea and some small red bean sweet like a dorayaki or mochi.

Honestly (and maybe it’s the inner retired gym rat in me) but water. Porking is quite the exercise. Otherwise can never go wrong with sweets from a sweetie.
I would see this kind, middle-aged (older than me) Asian SP whose English wasn't very good but her attitude was amazing. She would find a way to make jokes and be funny, she was always in good spirits.
When I would leave, she'd make sure my pockets were full of Chinese candies and treats. She would insist and throw them in there by the fistful and then give me a tender hug and a kiss. Without being weird, I felt like a little boy being sent off to school. It was very endearing and it stuck with me.

A glass of water is always appreciated. I’ve been offered bottled water before on the way out. One lady served up a fruit plate which was pretty impressive. Unfortunately we didn’t click during the session, but it was a very nice gesture.
