I get the sentiment, and absolutely agree I'd love to see more meaningful reviews/info shared on here, but I'd rather people ask questions and do nothing else (asking the question tends to lead to info by others being shared) than do nothing at all. 🤷‍♂️

It's tricky.
A bad review can wreck someone's livelihood.
All because of bad chemistry.
Also....I've had experiences doing this that I just dont want to talk about. Good and bad.
If a scam or something dangerous comes up definitely comment...otherwise its all pretty intimate.

It doesn't need to be a bad review. I don't write bad reviews, unless it's a scam or so horrible, it's basically a scam. I understand the livelihood part. And the human aspect of the encounters: sometimes people just don't match well.

I've also seen reviews or comments that are not necessarily positive but they're kind and compassionate (and they take the YMMV part into consideration): they simply say things like, "I didn't like this in particular", or "we didn't have good chemistry."

And, of course, it can also be something positive! Positive feedback is often especially appreciated.

If you've had bad and good experiences but you don't want to talk about them, yet you're asking questions and benefiting from all the information posted here, that doesn't seem right to me. It's not just unfair; it also undermines the forum’s effectiveness and purpose, since it depends on active member participation.

I see people with 40+ messages, all of them questions, like they've never seen anyone, but clearly benefiting from the information because they keep asking questions. All I'm saying is that when I see inquiries from people like that, I'm less inclined to share, and I have a lot of intel (like, a lot), so I probably would otherwise.

Not all of us are financially as well off as the frequent flyers who post here. When you only make a handful of appointments a year, one tends to seek reliable and consistent providers who are reviewed. It's also harder to TOFTT because one let down out of 5 appointments a year is a lot harder to swallow that 1 out of a dozen.

You’re not wrong.

It also never ceases to amaze me how many threads end up circling back to pricing

Hmm... I'm not sure how this is connected to money, or the lack thereof. Even using your own math. Five appointments a year could equal five reviews a year, for example. You don't feel like writing a whole review? Then you can go to an existing one and expand on it, or just say something like "I have confirmed this and that" or "I liked this but not that." This type of extra information/confirmation is also helpful for those looking for intel.

You're forgetting that the 5 appointment are likely not all different. Because i make very few appointments in a year, i tend to see the same well established providers for reliability and consistency and if there are already many reviews on the person I saw, I dont see any value in conforming a good experience. I tend to not write about what was offered or not, because for these well reviewed providers, it is known what is on the menu, but not everything that is on the menu is offered. YMMV. But I see the value in posting what services were offered and what weren't for a relatively new provider.

I hope those who "only see established SPs" and never write reviews, don't asked questions about "not established" SPs either. Or they are just shameless lurkers who don't contribute back. No use pretending otherwise.
