As the judge sitting in this case, I would be sympathetic in law to the family. As a human being, I say draw and quarter the fuckers. Perhaps the children too as they may well be irredeemably tainted by the evil that has been bred into them by their foul parents. Maybe they can be saved, but should I take the risk that these fucker children are going to one day come and kill my ass? Kill my family members and so on, just because? I think not, but I could be convinced otherwise for the children's sake (I'm not completely heartless after all...)

If they take the child away, it will open a whole new can of worms. So eventually you can't teach your kid to be a commie, since that's bad. You won't be able to instill socialism to your child because it goes against capitalism, or you can't teach capitalism because it doesn't fit too well with the socialist ideals.

Eventually it'll get into languages, religions.... you probably can't teach your kid karate, since your child could potentially use it for violence.


I say parents can teach their own children whatever they want, assuming it doesn't make them do something illegal. Probably not the best idea to raise some skinhead kid, but when were racist groups ever smart?

I dreamed as a kid of being taken away from my fundamentalist parents, convinced I had been switched at birth.

Teaching kids that some guy in the sky is watching them all the time, that everyone that doesn't belong to your own cult (Baptist, in this case) is going to hell (especially heathens and Catholics; Presbyterians and United Church were in a grey area) and that sex is bad, bad, bad seems pretty abusive to me still.

I don't know where the line is, but these lovely parents in Winnipeg seem pretty close to it to me. And there is a line, for sure....Omar Khadr's parents should definitely have had their kids impounded before it was too late.

There is a difference between being socialist versus capitalist and having some 7 year old walking around talking about killing niggers with a ball & chain.

The solution to this is easy.

1. Remove the children from the home
2. Put the parents on probation **

**probation consists of the parents being forced to live in East Detroit and stay within a 5 km radius of home at all times. They will be allowed to continue speaking their minds but must do so on the street corner.

The problem will be solved in several hours.

If you actually read the word "eventually", it would make things much clearer. It's about progressive from 1 extreme to the norm. I'm not saying, "wow geez.... killing niggers and socialism is such a inseparatible issue", I'm saying that once you start with one thing, you can argue to apply it for something else.

Lets say you're gonna make sure parents aren't allowed to teach their kids to hate other people, ok fine. What if the parents tell their kids to simply to avoid certain people, is that wrong? What if the parents want their kids to be better athletically and academically better than other people, should that be considered as a subtle attempt to be better than other people and hence therefore shouldn't be allowed either?

Easier if I used a relevent scenario.... Catholism says that homosexuality is wrong, so since you shouldn't teach your child to be discriminatory, you shouldn't be able to raise your kid as a Catholic? I mean you're not telling your child to be proactively aggressive to those who are homosexual, but there's also a chance that they might not get along or be offended by them, which might lead to confrontations later.
What about people immigranting from India who decides to keep their caste culture...... will it be suddenly be wrong for them to keep practicing their culture?

If I'm able to think of these outrageous but possible scenarios, don't you think stuff like this will happen if such a policy exists?
