okay that sounds dirty but I actually do

I posted before about my bathtub being really loud when it drained and now it is barely draining at all. Liquid Plumber only helps the problem like 5%, it needs to be snaked and I don't have one of those snakey things.

Please email me katlyn.lacey @ gmail.com

Thank you!

Katlyn,
does your bathtub have one of those stoppers that stay in the drain? the type that covers the drain by just a twist? If so, you likely just need to remove it and clear the strands of hair that has collected in the opening. I have to do this once or twice a year but once its done, the water will drain normally.

Actually, it is supposed to but when I moved in, it was gone which I think it what has made it so easy for it to get clogged. Unfortunately the drain bends immediately so I can not reach anything.

Someone has contacted me and says they will help, I'll let ya all know if they aren't able to come.

p.s.
boys, you are SO clever!! Thanks for getting them a ribbon blaze!

Katlyn,

Have you tried to snake it out with a metal coat-hanger?

We are talking about a bathtub drain, right? LOL.

...

for God's sake Katlyn...

if you rent, contact the building caretaker and he will attempt to solve the problem, if he can't deal with it, I assume he will contact a plumber...

if you own, contact a plumber...

too much drama over an alleged plugged drain...

yes I do rent but this is for my incall and how would you like the be the client I was hosting when the maintenance person showed up out of the blue? Unfortunately this is not the type of thing you can guarantee a time with and I would rather take care of it myself than take 2-3 days off waiting for someone to show :) Trust me on this one, it took 4 days to get my bathroom door back when they told me they'd bring it back in a couple hours.

I don't want to just call a plumber out of the book because I do rent and I'm not sure if they will contact the building owner. That is why I was looking for a plumber who would be sensitive to the situation.

Sorry I should have been more specific.

Hey Kaitlyn, have you gotten your drain cleaned ;)
Here's some DIY products from homedepot:
1)BrassCraft Power Drum Auger 1/4" x 25' $20 ( manually or use a cordless drill to spin the auger )
or
2)Kleer Drain Instant Drain Opener Clears Clogged Drains Fast! $40 ( care must be taken cause it uses CO2 cartridges )

Personally, i've used the first one but, the second sounds more convenient and less messy.

don't use stuff like draino. It is caustic and very damaging to the pipes. It will take the smooth surface off of your pipe and actually lead to more clogging problems. There is a way to use either backing soda or baking powder (am looking for the right stuff) and pouring it down the drain and closing the drain. It will get rid of any blockage without damaging things. If that doesn't work then you need the snake etc. I can help you out if you don't find someone. Just PM me any time. Good luck!

I would like to announce that I am now officially a plumber and am adding a new service:

Naked drain unclogging ;)

Thanks for everyone's suggestion. I retrieved a shampoo cap and 2 disposible razor covers. The cap was mine, the razor covers must have been what was in there from the start that made it slow :)
