Has tarnished the office forever. Folks mocking Harris for fundraising and this tent preacher has never let up and never will. I recall the freakout when Obama wore a beige suit and "disrespected" the office. Those were quaint times.
You haven't bought your limited second edition Trump gold sneakers yet? Shame on you! I'll bet Gentleman Jack wears his every time he goes to Swan Lake!

You're altruistic and you have a sense of morals.

Congratulations, you have successfully virtue signaled.

First you said Americans were dumb and apathetic.

Now you're saying that they weren't paying attention.

These are called "excuses."

Trump won because he was the better candidate.

Not the best candidate, the better candidate.

The Democrats managed to do something amazing.

They chose a candidate that was worse than Hillary Clinton.

Not only that, they picked a candidate that would go on to lose to an evil/unhinged/insane/psychotic/fascist/rapist/felon.

Back to drawing board.
Never said that Americans were dumb.. apathetic yes. Misled and at times ignorant (as in uninformed) but not dumb.
Still waiting for you to explain how Trump is a good person... I understand you're having difficulty keeping the thread when it doesn't fit your perception of what's going on, but please try to focus. My whole point is that your little sarcastic "Orange Man Bad".. is really my whole point. He is... much worse than simply bad, but bad is a good enough descriptor. All your ranting about Kamala doesn't change the fact that Trump is not a good person.
Kamala may have made political errors, or failed to address people's concerns sufficiently but I don't believe she's a bad person... Trump is a bad person.

Is that simple enough for you? (I recognize that was a little condescending but really you seem to like it so enjoy)

I find it offensive that you think I am so unintelligent and / or fiscally irresponsible to fall for one of Trump's cons. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you were trying to be funny.

Problem is Americans are dumb. Have you not seen individuals interviewed that claimed Joe Biden was dead and it was James Woods in the White House wearing a Biden mask? How many of them gathered in Dallas a couple years back waiting for the return of JFK jr to become trumps VP when trump was reinstated as president because that’s what they had been told by QAnon. Some years back when the West Wing tv show was on, citizens had to be told it was a drama show and not a show about the actual president in the White House. If that’s not dumb I don’t know what is.

Putin invades Ukraine, disrupting potash and wheat exports ( main source of animal feed), causing worldwide inflation. Corps jump on and cause upwards spiral 'because of economic factors beyond their control'

People get mad at inflation, blame the technocrats, install a rapist plutocrat instead.

Trump won because he had to pay the electronic voting machine people upfront. Not like in 2020.

Whats that other rumour i hear, Trump has a copy of Epsteins list....

Pretty much why Harris lost was because she was woman (woman weren't voting for her and hispanic males were voting against her), and did nothing about the "woke" policies the democrats had. The other side is the southern church vote was still with Trump, very downplayed.

I mean, after Hillary lost, I was pretty certain that a woman of color wouldn't win either, as sad as that is.

As an American, I can confirm. Back when Bush Junior got elected, I thought it was evidence enough that Americans were morons. And it's only gotten more pronounced since then. Dramatically so.

Hillary lost because she was Unlikable.
That... Doesn't really mean much of anything. Most especially in comparison to Donald Trump. Who is pretty much the most unlikable human being on the planet. But please, remind me of what she said that's comparable to being able to sexually assault women and grabbing them by the pussy. 🙄

I'm an American as well, and I’ve seen how the political landscape shifts over time. I understood Reagan, Bush Sr., Clinton, and Obama (both terms), whether it was due to their opponents or the broader mood of the country at the time. I do agree with you on Bush Jr.—I never quite got that one.

The funny thing about society is things will get so whacky and ridiculous on one side that when the pendulum swings it will snap back way further in the opposite direction than you want.
I curious to see how this plays out. Some things will be good and others not so much.
As for calling Americans morons—well, maybe some deserve it. But let’s not forget, even in the True North, there are some questionable choices. After all, someone had to vote Trudeau into office

I do not think Americans are morons. By Liberal Canadian idealists, of course they are morons.

Yet when I talk to working class Americans in swing states and polarized states, one thing is clear:

AMERICANS ARE STREET SMART.

If my tractor parts go too much up in cost, then the gov’t cronies are the problem. Simple but clarity of thought and propensity to overcomplicate issues is the hallmark of wastefilul governments. Americans, Refreshingly, see through this.

Regardless of race, religion, or education, as a Canadian visiting a neighbour, I have found Americans to be remarkably thoughtful about their ideals. More decisive, less milktoast, and able to say their opinion without ooooh. I don’t dare offed anyone.

We may not agree with their values in all cases, but if we are exclusively the judgemental ones, then who are the morons?
Another coup and we can’t fathom why. Who is disillusioned here.

Bruh... Again, as an American... Trudeau would've been like one of the most unassuming and middle of the road presidents we ever could've asked for. I honestly don't even understand what the big deal is that Canadians have with him.

But that's the other thing. After - usually eight years of a president - whether they do good or bad, the country will automatically vote the opposite. So in that respect also, it's not at all surprising that the pendulum swings from Democrat to Republican, yet again. And vice verse. Trump did upset this with his incompetence resulting in a four year term, and Biden with his mental decline, so I think it's only more pronounced now. But still, just more of the historical norm.

Trudeau most likely will be a footnote in history soon. So Long.

As for the U.S., I agree with you: the political pendulum will eventually swing back toward the Democrats, depending on how effectively they rebuild. Trump seems poised to complete his four years, and JD Vance could potentially follow with another term.
What intrigues me most is who the Democrats will present as their candidate in 2032. In my humble opinion, I don't think we will be hearing to much more from Kamala.. Possible contenders could include Shapiro from Pennsylvania or Gavin Newsom from California. As for AOC, she needs more time to grow and mature in her role, but her moment will undoubtedly come.

Now, here’s a thought: how exciting would it be if Jon Stewart entered the fray? Imagine the debates, the energy, the buzz. You heard it here first, fellow political enthusiasts—Jon Stewart for 2032!
