If Russia was 'invading' our southern border trying to claim Texas, New Mexico and Arizona their 'property' based upon some fantasy then I would see your argument (kinda), but what NATO (and you correctly stated that The US is bearing the majority of the bill) is doing is preventing Putin from occupying a sovereign nation, thereby (hopefully) showing enough power/will to prevent any further hostile take-overs on other neighboring countries. It's no secret why Sweden and Norway hastily applied to be a part of NATO...the writing is clearly written.
For context, what The US has provided in aid/ammo/artillery is barely 3% of our military budget (basically a rounding error in accounting), and for that small amount we don't have any American lives at risk on the battle field. The Afghanistan debacle was roughly $300 million PER DAY! I'd say the amount we're providing to help Ukraine is cheap national security insurance.
Now for the argument that Biden has been 'asleep at the wheel', I'd counter with the alternative of where we'd be if the incompetent coup attempt was actually successful.

Ukraine & Russia isn't either NATO's or USA's fight unless you count Nuland's ousting a legally and democratically elected Ukraine president in 2014 for the Khazarian dictator that started pummeling separatists in eastern Ukraine long before Putin and an overwhelmingly approving Russian government stepped in. Isn't either NATO's or USA's fight either unless you count Russia taking control of its own central bank to counter gutting of Russian natural resources. Isn't either NATO's or USA's fight unless you count intention of moving NATO and USA nuclear weapons into Ukraine up to Russia's border over the audacity of Russia taking control of her own economy. Something Canada should do too. Audit the Federal Reserve Bank of the United States, Bank of England and Bank of Canada to find out where interest payments go on nation's debt.

I would add in here what Zelensky said in his latest speech in the join session, " the money you spend is not charity, its an investment in democracy" If US will not take the mantle who would when autocracies are beginning to take shape around the world? And America was no exception when Orangeman and his minions attempted a coup and was almost close to succeeding. It's scary stuff. If it happens there, I am almost certain Canada will be affected. Whether anybody here like it or not, Biden did something something no other past president has done. Standup against a bullying Putin.

How does an elected representative not demand a certain amount of time to read the proposed budget. before voting on it. Remember when Nancy Pelosi said a decade ago that the Congress had to pass the budget to know what is in it. It baffles me how on can vote on a budget that no one knows what is in it. At least have a open and bipartisan debate on the budget bill. Would anyone sign off on a mortgage without reading it first. Some of these elected officials in the USA might be good people but they reveal their shortcomings when it comes to fiscal prudence.

Is it possible the citizens of the USA are unaware of what is going in their federal, state and municipal governments? For example, New York State Legislators just voted themselves a $32000.00 raise pay raise without any debate with the public. This was wrapped up within 2 days. I am glad that I am not a taxpayer in New York State and getting fleeced by their state government. I will take Premier David Eby over Governor Katherine Hochul any time.

...K, I'll bite. The elected officials aren't the actual authors of these bills (the entire back-room crafts the 'spirit/idea' into an actual law that is coherent and defensible) so I'm not naive enough to believe more than 10%-20% of either R's or D's actually read the entire bill(s). Heck, two-thirds of The R's are just there to 'own the libs'.

Since the primary objective is re-election, this division and abusive relationship will continue as long as each side is will to fund/tolerate it. I'm not sure Hilary realized what her 'basket of deplorables' comment unleashed, but it's out-of-the-bottle now, armed to the teeth and unafraid to shoot. Being owned by the libs for a few decades has steeped these factions from 'fly-over states' to the point of storming The Capitol on behalf of 'their guy' regardless of repercussions. I've heard this many times from my MAGA acquaintances...'pay-backs for putting-up with that n!&&3r in our White House for 8 years'. Let that one swill-around for a while...our sickness down here is endemic that manifested itself in 45, once he's gone there will be another, probably more gifted (low-bar here) leader that may just pull-off what failed 1/6

I know lots of sports geeks who can tell you the life story of dozens of hockey players, but they don't know who their city councillor is, who their MLA is or who their MP is.
They don't know the platform of any major party.
They vote on the looks of the candidate.
They have never watched a debate on CPAC. Democracy is failing because of laziness and ignorance.

Anyone with half a brain would see that the posts about "The Jews" above are idiotic crap...but there's the problem. They don't fact check anything. They have never read a book. They think the Holocaust never happened, and Auschwitz is as real as Star Wars. They are too lazy, ignorant and complacent.

It seems you have mentioned almost all the mainstream media outlets. Any suggestion which cable news outlet or news papers we all should be watching or reading instead? I also bet if Obama or Clinton engages in an insurrection, or stole classified top secret documents, the republicans would have been all over them, which is understandable. The thing is they never were and somehow it has always been a republican president who always got involved in this kind of shenanigans.
