Preaching to the choir here....
I have a friend whose wife had an affair and then insisted he leave the house. He stayed and slept on the couch for about 6 months until she left and moved in with her boyfriend. They have a son and a daughter. The daughter lives with her mom and spends time with her dad as much as she can. Their son lives with his father and is disabled; his mother has very little to do with him. This guy is working himself into the ground caring for his son and making sure he will be taken care of financially when he is gone. The mother is required to pay around $500 (yes five HUNDRED) per month for child support for her son, but it rarely happens.Men have long been considered aggressors and threats to the safety of children, but getting it wrong is a human trait, not a male defect.
In fact, in the past few years, some high- profile perpetrators of child abuse have been women: Karen Matthews, who staged the kidnap of her daughter Shannon; Amanda Hutton, whose son’s mummified body was found two years after he died; and Baby P’s mother Tracey Connelly.
‘There is absolutely no magic ingredient that women have when it comes to being parents,’ says Adrienne Burgess from the Fatherhood Institute. ‘Men are equally innately hard-wired to care for children.
‘The only difference is that the rest of the world thinks they’re dangerous, uninterested and lacking skills mothers are born with. That is a total myth.’
The problem is exacerbated by the way fathers are portrayed in countless films and TV shows as being utterly inept and untrustworthy. Off the top of my head, I can cite Men Behaving Badly, Last Of The Summer Wine, The Simpsons, Everybody Loves Raymond and Friends as examples, plus Three Men And A Baby — the highest-grossing box office hit of 1987.
So many men fail to understand the core concept that underlies Canadian family law: marriage is an economic partnership. When it ends you split up the assets that the partnership acquired, regardless of fault. There is certainly a culture of entitlement there. I've known a few guys who had to work right to 65 and now are retired and destitute because divorce ruined them.
That is the theory, but it often does not happen that because when a relationship breaks down, there is bitterness and both sides are out to screw each other, and not in a good way.So many men fail to understand the core concept that underlies Canadian family law: marriage is an economic partnership. When it ends you split up the assets that the partnership acquired, regardless of fault.
Also, if you made babies, you have to support them.
And, if your wife suffered an economic disadvantage by staying home and housewifing, you might have to support her.
These are common-sense rules. But men who see their assets and income as "theirs" often have a tough time seeing that.
On the lighter side, I've heard of guys who were relieved the ex was "only" getting 50% - because the wife had been spending much more!
I always wanted to get married... but things didn't work out. I know in my hear that if I'd gotten married - I'd probably have gotten divorced.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/a...ive-new-book-Denigration-Men-PETER-LLOYD.html

Re: Westwoody social housing picture. The "funny" thing about that picture (sick and twisted) is that one would probably be called out for hate speech for saying such things.
Years ago there was a mens issues forum that the feminazi's forced to shut down (with government help) because they said it was anti-women hate speech. While all it was is men
relaying their stories in family court and the difficulty getting access to their children. The ex-wifes would block/delay etc court ordered visitation rights.
Then there are the mens groups that wanted to have a conference at a university but were shut down by the feminazis.

"A Voice for Men (also known as AVfM, AVFM oror AV4M) is a United States based for profit limited liability company and online publication that was founded in 2009 by Paul Elam. A part of themen's rights movement, it calls its activism "Men's Human Rights Activism", and is the largest and most influential men's rights site."
" AVFM was included in a list of twelve websites in the spring 2012 issue ("The Year in Hate and Extremism") of theSouthern Poverty Law Center's(SPLC) Intelligence Report in a section called "Misogyny: The Sites". The dozen sites were described in the report as "women-hating" and "thick with misogynistic attacks that can be astounding for the guttural hatred they express"."

Men will never be able to compete with the barking feminist Chihuahuas in the noise-making dept. Just look at the lengthy noise posted above my post (no I didn't bother reading more than a paragraph of her lazy effort at trying to mock men's concerns).Re: Westwoody social housing picture. Not surprised at all - the younger guys have seen (in some cases, first hand) the results of older guys getting burnt and they realize marriage isn't worth the risk.I'm surprised to see just how many men are starting to push back these days -- especially the younger guys.
