Actor Paul Walker, best known for his role in the Fast and the Furious movie franchise, died Saturday. He was 40.

According to celebrity website TMZ, Walker and another person were killed when the driver of a Porsche GT lost control and crashed, bursting into flames, according to the report.

The accident is said to have occurred in Valencia, California, where the actor was attending an open house at Always Evolving, a performance car and racing business.

According to fire officials, the single vehicle crash happened at around 3:30 p.m. local time in the Rye Canyon Business Park. A red Porsche had struck a light pole and a tree. Two occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.

The L.A. County Sheriff’s Traffic Services Detail is investigating the cause of the accident and the L.A. County Coroner is on scene.

A tragic but familiar ring....

Too fast to live, too young to die,

Bye Bye.

Crashes in a ball of flame, then some other actor takes over made up to look burned and disfigured.

I am going to tame my temper with stupid shit comments like that.

He lived his life, lived it fully, and was enormously generous to so many people. He was doing a charity event when he died. He was an example among peers, and was beginning to capture the craft of race driving on top of it.

Despite that the accident from the other driver just looks stupid (you do know he was a passenger in this accident, yes?) and reckless on the street, that has little to do with what I am saying. I can die tomorrow. When I was born, it became inevitable that I will die. Perhaps I will do so having lived a life fully, which I strive to do in all aspects of mine.

You can sit around, not do shit with your life, pursue no passions, take no risks, not be charitable to others, and walk down the street, and get killed tripping down your stairs. Then I will make some stupid shit up about 'wuuuuttt, didn't someone explain how to walk down stairs' and post it online.
What the fuck does living life to the fullest have to do with racing a car on a city street? Sure, you could be killed crossing the street - maybe by some dumb fuck doing 150MPH.

Nothing tragic about this. He was an adult and knew what his friend was doing.

Just glad nobody walking with their kids got taken out by two joy-riding idiots.

A story on Yahoo today told about the time he was in a jewelry store and a young couple were looking at engagement rings. The guy was in uniform and they were looking at a $10,000 ring. Obviously, too expensive for them, but nonetheless Walker talked to the sales clerk and told her to "put it on his account". Told not to disclose his name. Now that is a guy who knows how to honor veterans

Accident. Probably the most mis-used word in the english language. A car hits a pedestrian then it turns out the driver was texting or drunk. How is that an accident? A multi car 'accident' turns out they were speeding on icy or slushy road. How is that an accident? The start of this thread 'accident' again. Firey crash? How was that an 'accident?'

Accident: Unforeseen or unplanned event or circumstance. Speeding? Distracted? Hardly the excuse/cause of an 'accident'.

I think I might have to agree that 'car crash' might be a better title, although they certainly believed they could control that 'notoriously difficult to drive' high performance vehicle. It was an unforeseen event that they were not as skilled as they thought, an unplanned event that they lost control and sheared off a light pole and a tree, and I am sure that burning to death while trapped in a $500,000 care is not a circumstance that anyone ever plans for. It was certainly, by your own definition an accident, but like so many accidents, it was 100% preventable. Tragic yes...but I have to wonder. How many young people have perished in accidents inspired by stunts they saw performed in any of the F& F franchise movies?

You mean they were on a testosterone high and showing off, then got themselves killed for being idiots.

The only good thing I see is that they didn't kill any innocent bystanders while they were exercising their right to natural selection.

Spoiler alert!!!

These lines are from the latest Fast and Furious movie. I'm pretty sure it will not ruin the movie however I could be wrong.

Saw it on E.T. Canada

Here is a video of a Professional Driver trying to control the Porsche Carrera GT (appearently this forum won't let you mark a specific time in a video so go to the 6 minute mark to just see the Stig try to control this beast.)
