Hi All

I just wanted to let you know that our old risk charts have been updated and added to our new website.

The charts provide information about what your chances are of getting or passing on an STI with different kinds of sex.
Shit just got real. I'll stick to holding hands (while wearing rubber gloves).

There must be a huge pool of gonorrhea, chlamydia, herpes, syphilis and HPV being passed around in the lower mainland with BBBJs and DATY being the norm these days...I'm predicting a new strain of every disease will eventually mutate...lol

Well there's a big "IF" baked right into the header of the table. The trick would be determining if your partner has an infection at that site since I'm sure it's not always visible. It's up to everyone to decide what risk levels they're willing to accept.

I think that is not far off from the truth.

Glad that you noticed the IF on the chart.

Someone needs to have something in the first place for there to be any kind of chance.

Also depends on how common an STI is. For example HPV is really common but syphilis is not. We also get a lot more cases of Chlamydia than Gonorrhea.

BBBJ/DATY from the SP's perspective is a very high risk activity...I personally don't engage anymore for obvious reasons, also its way different for the SP instead of the pooner, the SP is servicing WAY more people so the chances of her catching something is much higher.

A lady once told me that if SP's are just in the business for a short while (less than 3 months) and are offering BBBJs etc, they most likely aren't getting as much exposure to as many clients as an SP who is doing this long term, for 1 year or more. So it would be smarter and more responsible in the long term to start wrapping it up. Of course there will be exceptions like SP's who are just plain careless, reckless and like haymitch said, drug addicted and can't afford to say no.

(Anyway, I posted the following in another thread, but I think it belongs here - edited)
The weirdest thing about this industry IMO is the fact that SP's & pooners are being shitted on repeatedly by reviewers & inquirers for choosing to engage in safe acts. I would have thought it would be the other way around, that we would be praised and encouraged for choosing to be safe (or at least be accepted as a default option like covered FS) but no, instead SPs who don't do BBBJ/daty/dfk etc. are repeatedly put down everyday online and in real life. Its quite interesting really, and pretty sad too.

The Oral Sex chart has one big missing component - semen in mouth.
I believe that turns a bbbj from a negligible risk of HIV to medium to high risk of HIV.

Thats true...Health Nurse, this would be a good idea to add on. Semen in mouth AND swallowing it.

I don't think swallowing changes the risk factor significantly from having it in the oral cavity.
You could be right, it can be absorbed faster that way too, I don't really know - I am not a scientist/doctor. Hopefully the experts can guide us, maybe it can be posted into the "other kinds of sex" chart.

Another thing worth mentioning is the kinds of diseases that get passed on from common acts such as BBBJ/DATY etc. I understand a lot of people only worry about HIV, maybe not so much anymore since its not fatal any longer (if treated in some cases), but other kinds of VD are really nasty and can cause inconvenience (doctor visits, being medicated, hygienic/odor issues, putting loved ones at risk if kissing them after etc)...Also, some of these diseases, if left untreated, go through worse stages and end up causing worse problems (pelvic inflammatory disease, cervical cancer, syphilis problems etc).

I guess I could add that category as well into my above post about exceptions - SP's who don't mind taking a bunch of pills and suffering from side effects, and taking time off/loosing income every few months when they catch one of these nasty STDs, or having yeast infections, thrush - which in turn causes bad odors sometimes and it gets recorded into a review. The risk and exposure is MUCH worse when SP's are servicing BBBJ/daty/etc to every single client who prefers it (which is most of them these days) for long periods of time.
