That will filter out most of the ads. A couple of days ago you said you would allow no rates for a month and then make them rates mandatory. Is this still the case?

If people have multiple offers of times and rates that can still be mentioned in the text. I thought that the rate/ethnicity filtering was THE killer feature of the new site.

Honestly, I think rate should be a mandatory.

Given that we are already introducing a new version and there is a lot of getting use to, I will re-look at this required field in a month or two so that the SPs don't have to worry about it just yet.

It will still be present, just not required and it will still be in the search filters. I would guess >60% will still use this feature in their ads.

For this verified process Nik, is it possible to only allow those verified pictures to be posted?

I know there are some girls, mostly the asian managed ones, that get verified then switch photos.

This will be done once things settle down. It will involve a re-verification process for the entire user base, so right now isn't the right time to do that.

The real issue here is speed. Most users are browsing these types of things discreetly on their phones or tablets. I'd say put the bigger emphasis on making it mobile friendly and not the other way around. Another suggestion is to make the old format as the mobile version. It's fast, and it works! I could always filter out ads not sure how people are saying this is "new".

As a smaller personal annoyance the whole erslist watermark on every new photo uploaded is a major eye sore. Surely something can be smaller, or at least fainter.

I've sampled the speed on an iphone5, a Z10, and ipad4. So it's not like I'm using old mobile technology either.

There are many lauding the Filter feature, which I think is the worst feature. The previous way was fine and did not aggressively filter out Legitimate, Verified, Featured ads as the new filters do. I think for PAID ads there should be no filter. The ladies are paying ERSLIST to advertise and for exposure, while ERS is allowing the NON PAYING Customers to filter out their ads, thus essentially taking their money for nothing. The ladies who are higher priced or not Caucasian, may never get there ads seen if the filters are used.

How do many of us know going in exactly what we are looking for and what we are willing to spend. The window shopping and reading some of the outrageous ads is sometimes the most fun! I have many times been on ERS and clicked on an ad because of a pic, the title or purely out of curiosity and found some real GEMS that I would not have found had I filtered out possibilities.

When I go grocery shopping I have a list, but inevitably come home with things not on the list, because they caught my eye or I did not know I needed until I saw it. The same can be said when "Shopping" for an SP. How can you filter out a whole race or price point and not be aware of all the possibilities you are missing?

Yes plowing through all the Asian ads can be tedious, but filtering out all Asians, especially if they are a paid advertiser, is just plain wrong.

This site is designed for the CUSTOMER and not for the PAID ADVERTISERS and many SP's have to think about that before paying to advertise on ERS. You are paying to advertise on a site where if the filters are employed, your ad may NOT reach your target audience.

And the Whining about the verification process; far from perfect, but better than most. Do your homework, use Google Image, TinEye, Reviews and walk if they misrepresent themselves and let the community know about. That is how you verify, you check the facts. Don't count on ERSLIST to do all your work for you.

The purpose of the site is to make money from paid ads. To sell more ads the site needs to have more customers visit it. If customers did not come then ads would no longer be attractive.

ERSlist is not the only game in town. They are the top service but to maintain that status they have to stay ahead of competition that is nipping at their heels.

The ability to filter out ads from providers who I would never consider visiting makes the site far more attractive. And why should the provider who I will never consider seeing worry if I do not see their ad?

I have a budget, and a geographic area that I'm willing to travel to and a preference for Asians. Why should a high priced Caucasian escort who lives an hour away from me care if I don't see her ad? Especially if the filtering feature brings more traffic to the site, and thus more people who really want to see her ad. It is not the quantity of eyeballs viewing your ad, it is the quality.

I understand and respect your point of view, I just do not agree with it. Does not make either of us wrong, just of different opinions. I think it is the quantity of the eyeballs and not quality, because the more eyeballs the better chance of a quality customer.

I think it should be designed for both the Advertiser and the Customer and just think in its current state it is somewhat biased against the PAID advertiser.

There is no way Nik can satisfy everyone and I applaud his efforts in improving ERS for everybody. As far as not the only game in town, it is the more popular advertising site in the GVRD, by far, PERB being first and foremost a Review Board.

As much as I hate the Asian spam, I think over time, soon enough, the Asians will figure out how to beat the system, and pick another race for their ads (Mixed, Caucasian,etc), and once again ERS will be spammed by hundreds of fake Asian pop star photos and BBFS ads.

^^ This has been deployed. As mentioned you can switch between the two any-time by clicking the the slider at the top.
For anyone who was having a hard time with the new site this brings it back to a rudimentary ad list and should resolve any slow loading times for the most part.
We are still going to be improving the speed of the site to make it faster for mobile users, this update was released on the go from conception to production in 36hours. So its just 1 step forward, it will get better.

Lastly we are continuing full time to improve the features and design of the site and will take in to account all the feedback we gathered before releasing the next update

Now when I log in it asks me if I want to Post an Ad and gives me the option to Verify...... and the chat bar (or what ever it is called) still only shows in IE not Firefox or Chrome.

I'm sorry but the more I use the new site on fast or fun I find really annoying. It's slow the thumb nail pictures now open in a new window which again is an annoyance and the part that drives me up the wall is the fact I'll open a pave to view an ad I hit the back button and instead of going back to the last ad it drops me at the top of the page and I have two scroll down to find my place.

Also finding my place is a challenge now as the site does not give good indication of the last ad viewed like the old site it's as poor looking on ers as it was with my iPhone three. I now have the new S4 and the old site worked super well on my phone now it's like I've gone backwards.

Please post the old website back up. If not I hope the ladies move on to craigslist again or backpage or van city ads as the new ers is of poor design IMO is not easy to use and now has become more of a pain to use quickly.

We are moving ahead. Design takes getting use to, I am listening to the constructive points but we are not moving backwards.

There is no way at the end of this anyone is going to say the site is 100% perfect, that is how design feedback works for any site. Look at all the different comments on this thread on ways to change the design. Everyone has their own take on it. We serve well over 300,000 visitors a month, for sure a bunch are going to be upset and vent. Overall the stats are telling, the platform is promising, and the issues at hand are very manageable.

For the record, this is coming from me.. The last version was god awful with 100 buttons, the only reason anyone can say they liked it is because they got use to it.
Once a few more bugs are fixed and a little more tweaks are made the rest is just about getting familiar and accustomed to the new site.

The "Take Cover" mode should change the tab title to something safer. Right now it's good for masking the page contents but someone could still see what you're doing if they looked at the tabs.

Update:
-Working on increasing the speed of both lite and full.
-Fixing a few minor bugs and search filter issues.
-Fixing the issue when you view an ad and go back, right now it takes you to the top of the page. We will set it so it takes you to the same position on the page you were viewing.
-We will sit on the design feedback for a few days that has been shared with us and try and put something together. Wont be drastic, but we might tweak some small things here and there that were mentioned.

Nik, I was just wondering if we can get a clarification about the following:

not to mention that the ersbook part of it is gone forever!all pictures,comments , friends lists mailbox.....everything gone

I notice buttons at the top for ERSBook, ERSDir and Forum that all display a message that reads "Coming Soon" when I click on them and that "info" tab takes me to a contact form to ask questions when I click on it. I was in chat earlier with a lovely SP whom I've met previously and she made some mention about not currently having access to her "inbox". I assume she was referring to the inbox from her ERSBook profile page. I inferred that she is hoping to be able to have access to that again, possibly having stored messages there that are important to her.

From my perspective, I am becoming more accustomed to the new look and feel but am definitely more comfortable with the "Fast" version. On another note: the site still doesn't seem to display quite properly on my phone (android). Basically, the site is larger than my screen whether in horizontal or vertical mode and I have to do some side to side scrolling to see it all, if that makes sense.

Edit to note: By the way, I really like the "favourites" feature
