How is it "class warfare" to ask that there be some equity in the tax system?
In the USA the top 5 percent of taxpayers pay more than one-half of all individual income taxes. The Obama 2012 campaign received more Wall Street donations than all GOP candidates combined, yet he continues to label the Republicans as the party of the 1%.

They also own approximately 72% of the wealth of the nation. The very top also make a small percentage of their income from actual "work." Mitt Romney -- as the current example, made more than 20 million in each of the last two years. The only work he probably did was initial some financial reports. His only job has been running for office.

Very true, sadly. Yet it is also true that the Republicans are definitely the ones intent on protecting the wealth of the very rich.

Ever notice that the left will never give a straight answer when you challenge them. Their only defense is to talk about past events involving Conservatives and totally ignore your original point.

And just what was your original point? I believe it was something about Obama being a "tool." How does one respond to that objectively? Other than being a tool of Wall Street (which he has so far been), your comment has no actual meaning. The only "straight" answer would be "define tool" .... or maybe "no he isn't" as a grade school response.

Ever notice how "the right" just repeat slogans from Fox News commentators?

Why do you care how much wealth the next guy has? Why does it matter to you how hard someone works for their money? A dentist makes more in a week than the guy at McDonald's does in a month. So what! Should the dentist give some of his money to the McDonald's guy?

Anyone who changes the status quo is considered left. :D

Anyways, another 4 years before the Halliburtons and Bechtels can start having some life again, maybe ;)

Yes, he in effect does in a progressive tax system...like ours, for example, and in the US as well.

My post was actually directed at the other 2 members who challenged me. My original point is that Obama represents himself as the friend of the 99% yet he accepts huge donations from Wall Street. You agreed with me but the other 2 members chose to change the subject and talk about something else.

Let me make sure that I am understanding you right. Putting all tax laws aside, you feel that the McDonald's guy is entitled to some of the Dentists wealth?

Fixed that for ya.

"Tony Clement, wheres the paper trail for the 50 million missing from the border improvement fund?"

"ADSCAM ADSCAM ADSCAM!"

"Peter McKay, fess up that you used a military chopper costing the taxpayer $32,000 an hour for a personal fishing trip"

"ADSCAM ADSCAM ADSCAM!"

"Jason Kenney, youre single, 42 years old, a self professed virgin, and you attack anything regarding gay rights... Is it not the truth that you are a self hating, closeted, homophobic homosexual?"

"ADSCAM ADSCAM ADSCAM!"

Kidding aside, the avoidance of answering a question by bringing up the past is not exclusive to the left or the right... everyone does it. The difference is, most people dont ask challenging questions to those of their own political leanings. We all need to learn to play devil's advocate more.

indirectly, through a progressive tax system, yes. There is no way to put that aside. No, he isn't allowed to mug the dentist.

Agreed.

If McDonalds wasn't operating in the dentists town, there'd be a lot less taxes being paid into the system (and a lot less kids with rotten teeth for him to bankrupt the parents with heh) and the dentist would either be looking at higher taxes, or shittier roads and emergency services. The guy that works at McDonalds needs a reliable transit system to get him to work of which the dentist will be paying into more, but its still in the dentists best interest that burger flipper isn't so poor he cant make it to work thus slowing the business of McDonalds and paying less taxes, affecting the services the dentist enjoys.

Yes. I was kidding around and trying say that we can blame each other all day, but we're all accusing each other of the same thing. You know, pointing out the irony of your post.

Do you even recognize the irony of your post?

And in the news today, as much as it is fun to heap scorn on Obama's promises in his SOTUA, the GOP amphibian candidate has made a real pie in the (wishful thinking) sky promise. He has committed to establishing a permanent US base on the moon before the end of his second term as POTUS. Nothing defines a promise you can bank on quite like promising to do something a couple of elections down the road.
That's what happens after attending so many Red Scare meetings. :pound:
