What an effort by Halak, unbelievable. Everyone on the team blocking shot after shot after shot, this is what the playoffs is all about.

Caps were 54-15-13 in the reg season. In today's NHL where there is so much parity that is just sick! And to bow out like that is epic.

Um yeah - let's not get carried away.

Pens 3-1 against Habs this season.

Much better all-around team, from the goalie out.

One game at a time.

(Oh, and it would, in our wildest dreams, be Stanley Cup number 25)

Oh Go Habs Go is right. Tough against Crosby and Company but hey anything can happen. Remember the Habs is 86 with some goalie named Roy or something.

That's great. And it was interesting to see the top seeds going 1-3 in the east while the reverse was true in the west.

Great game, great series. I wrote the Canadiens off after game 4.... (who didn't?). Never expected a comeback from a 3-1 deficit.

I thought after the Habs lost second game after leading 4-1 or something that Washington had the series in the bag. Good to see them when but think will be tough against Penguins unless Halak can continue to perform miracles.

The Caps were way over rated. As someone put it:

"the pens are the real # 1 seed in the east they coasted most of the year and they didnt have atl, t.b, car, and fla in their division wow it looks to me like wash was not really a #1 more of a joke if you ask me congratulations hab fans you definitely deserved it"

With such a schedule they had 54 wins compared to teams in the West who had
52, 51, 50 and 49. Detroit had only 44 but half their team spent the year in hospital.

If Washington played in the Western conference it is doubtful they would have had the
most points as at least 4 teams there are as good or better.

And the Habs, with numerous injuries throughout the season, were highly under rated.
I won't be at all surprised if they knock off Crosby & co as well, who showed a lot of
weaknesses in their series vs the Sens.

Halak was great, no doubt. But I also thought the Habs played great team defense. Lots of shots yes. But many from outside. Incredible shot-blocking too, especially by Hal Gill. He sure is slow but that reach really helps him.

The Caps didn't seem to want to play a gritty cycling game, to take advantage of their bigger size. Semin was a bust.

Oh yes, and there was lady luck too, though both teams had their share of it yesterday.

Anyway, it's great to see another Cdn team make to the 2nd round.
