A number of years ago NHL hockey players based in Canada were complaining about the difference in value of Canadian dollar versuses the American dollar. So after a lot of hop la all NHL players based in Canada were paid in USD funds.

Shoes on the other foot are American based players complaining that they are being short changed? Will NHL players based in America want to head North because our buck is stronger or at least be paid in CAD? Granted the Canadian buck doesn't have that much of an edge over our counterpart but seeing as GWB can't see fit to kill as many of his own people as possible never mind driving the American dollar into dirt i wonder when does the demise of the American dollar end? Just thinking out loud.

USD is still more widely accepted then the CAD. I figure the overseas players would rather have USD then CAD.

Go LEAFS!

Yes, the Canadian $ is only slightly above the US $ (1.06 at this time), but when you figure it against 6 million dollars per year, thats an extra ferrari in their parking lot!

Pay them in the currency of the country they are...

registered as a citizen. If they chose to designate a country of Principal Residence, then they should be paid in that currency. Any $$$ paid should be on par to each countries monetary value. Let them exchange their funds just like anyone visiting or living in a different country while they are visiting, or working..

That way the $$$$$ difference won't matter, wherever they play. Same goes for any employee working and living in a different country. Then the individual negotiates their salary based on the economic situation of where they are going.

For example, an employee, moving from Alberta to B.C., you should negotiate more salary due to difference in costs to live there. Same goes for the above.
