My heart goes out to those who rely on public transit. Many people cant afford a car. Without public transit they wont be able to get to work, hence make any $$
I sympathize with this lot the most but also those who employ bus riders. No employees, no commerce, no business.
I didn’t drive during the big one of 2001 and it was kind of fun. They’re quite fuzzy but I have some fond memories of walking and eventually pedaling, after begrudgingly buying a bike, to work that summer. It was the talk of the town and people talked more back then. Seeing familiar faces on the morning walk/ride and striking up the odd conversation was a common occurrence.
I don’t know how this strike will affect me on the two or three days I need to drive downtown during the week, but I imagine the city core and parking scene will be a shit show.
It hasn’t been mentioned so I’ll point out that those who rely on car2go, modo etc are about to have that convenience change in a big way.
