This guy still has 3 years to serve in prison. He has been out on bail basically so has never finished his sentence. They had a great show on him on CKNW the other day. He already has contact with his sister but it is monitored, something Kadr doesn't want. They went into detail about his payout as well saying Trudeau and the Liberals gave in for no reason. Trudeau's speech about it possibly costing Canadians $40 million was all crap because Kadr was seeking less then half that to begin with. I missed the beginning of the show but whomever the guest was he was a previous Canadian government employee with in depth knowledge of the case and circumstances.
Let's not forget the root of this problem was Stephen Harper's appeasement for G W Bush Jr Gitmo detention centre.

It's a shame the U.S. soldiers didn't finish the job they started "over there" in the original skirmish. I've read all he available detail so yeah, I get it was complex, and maybe Harper delayed things as long as he could, but zero doubt he was a soldier "with them" against "us" so fuck him.
