Disclaimer: I prefer listening to music with no real, distinguishable lyrics you can detect. Music with lyrics, or, mainstream music that you're really familiar with--at least for me-- can be distracting and can take away from having your undivided attention from your date. I prefer something you'd hear at the spa or Priya's suggestion, the Jasmani Garden.
I'm very familiar with Dangelo's Untitled. If she likes R&B/Hip hop or is 35+, green light. If she's more into rock or country, red light. The last thing you want is to have her stop mid kissing to say "what the hell are we listening to?"
I am usually too preoccupied. I play guitar, bass and a bit of drums and any of those three would be a bit of a challenge for most acts.

My edu-ma-cation took me to places in the Middle East and North Africa. Sadly, as much as I want to do something with my education, anything Middle Eastern themed here is incredibly political and tremendously hard to get employment. Only the UN is more ridiculously hard to get into and pays less (initially with their internships). So, sadly, I've moved on to less fulfilling things in life.
Um Kulthum, or Oum Kalthoum is a very famous Arabic singer who is known as the Mother of Egypt. When she died, millions in Egypt took to the streets to mourn her death. They don't know the exact number because out of respect for Gamal Abdel Nasser, they said less showed up for hers. But it wasn't just Egypt. Hundreds of thousands, if not more in other countries took to the streets to mourn her death. There's a pretty good documentary about her, in English, I think called a Voice like no other.
