How do I uninstall Windows XP Home Edition.?

I recently installed Windows XP Professional.

I was having trouble with a virus so I thought I would intsall XP Pro.

Now for some reason I have both on my machine, when I only want XP Pro.

On the boot up screen it asks me which one to start.

So, Now I want to get rid of Xp Home edition.

It came installed on the machine so I don't have a disk.

Thanks for your help.

Sounds like you now have a dual boot system, Windows XP Home and Windows XP Professional. Your best bet for the long run is to back up all of your data, yes...........BACK UP ALL YOUR DATA.

Once you have backed up everything you want to keep put in your Windows XP Professional disk and start to do a reinstall. (You do have the full intstall XP PRO correct? If it is an upgrade then it should have installed over top of XP Home and you should not see it.) When the option to reformat come up, reformat your disk. THIS WILL DESTROY ALL DATA THAT IS ON YOUR COMPUTER AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET IT BACK, BACK UP ALL YOUR DATA. Then continue with the reinstall of XP PRO. In the end you should end up with only the XP PRO and your XP Home and all data will not be recoverable. Your XP Home OS will be gone forever.

There are other ways of doing this, but it sounds like you need the most basic installs and that is it. They are more complicated and a missed step will make your data unrecoverable, and you will have to do a full installIF you are not comfortable doing the above, take it to a professional computer person, tell them what you would like, let them do the work and pay the man.

One last thing.......BACK UP ALL YOUR DATA.
