Which is Better? Monty's or the Red Lion

it depends on what you like overall the red lion is a better looking club because of lighting,size and you can always see the stage without being obstructed by a big pillar but at montys you can get a private lap dances and get pictures taken.so if i wanted just to go there to look at strippers i would say red lion but if i wanted the a lap dance then i would go to montys.

I enjoy both, but each for their own reason.
Monty's is the old stalwart - dark, dirty and unpredictable. You can count on a decent line-up of girls though showtimes are often too far apart. The private dance area pretty much sucks but if you get the right girl up their with the right attitude the sky is the limit (a complimentary shot of Cuervo Gold to the DJ to look the other way helps too!). It is the anything-can-happen factor that makes the place exciting and keeps me coming back. I have been witness to:
- many impromptu duo shows - a few that would be classified as drunken lesbo make out sessions
- a couple of very large wasted women who ended the night stripping on stage and screaming while the poor staff tried to coax them off (eventually it was the loose change that other patrons were throwing at them that drove them away!)
- a fight between a dancer and an amateur fellow wet t-shirt competitor who kept ripping her clothes
- as well as a variety of fire shows, candle shows, duos, trios, amateurs, etc.
The Fox Pub was rebuilt a few years ago after a fire destroyed it and part of the hotel it was in. The Fox is newer, bigger and flashier than Monty's. It has a great stage with unobstructed views and generally a higher calibre of model-material dancers. It is the place that students frequent and where curious groups of girls go to check things out. They have more frequent shows it seems and offers non-stop dancers on Thursday nights and sometimes on the weekends too. But it is too safe for my liking. Dancers come and go - nothing special about their shows, no extra interactions with the crowd - safe but boring. The staff are great and the waitresses sometimes dress in themes (I particularly enjoyed the corsets that many were sporting!)
There you have it - my take on the only 2 places in Victoria that you can see naked chicks for the inflated price of a beer.

The only time that I go to either place is between noon and 5 pm. I quickly learned that Monty's is a total waste of time during this period. Why, you might ask? At Monty's, a person should bring their own Penthouse or Hustler mag if he plans on seeing more than one naked chick per hour.
I've actually had a dancer refuse to dance once because I was the only customer in the place. Too bad, with the attention she could have given me, she would have been tipped better than if the place was half full. Also, being the only person there at lunch time, you would think that you'd get great service. I get faster food and booze service at the Foxx when it's 3/4 full with only one booze slinger and one food slinger on.

actually, The Red Lion does not offer private dances at all, just Monty's. Montys was never closed to be reopened. That would be the Red Lion that had to close after a fire.Methos said:
A lot of the gals , even if you get the DJ to look the other way, will not go further than an air dance. If they get caught they are fined a min of $50. One that I know got fined that just for taking a $5 bill from the customers hand to hers. just an observation.
the red lion now has private dances on wed, thurs, fri, and sat nights after 9pm.. not all the dancers do private dances but they are available.. the private rooms they have them in are nice.. little stages with lights underneath.. check it out sometime

In the recent while was shut down. For a liquor code infraction ...for 2 weeks.
They reopend...and essentially the same. Too bad.
I like the location so much better than the red dog...but Vic sucks for strip clubs. I miss the old days of the kings and the brass rail....

guess I got to get out more often. you are definitely right about victoria sucking for strip clubs. I will have to try out those private rooms at the Fox though. they sound promising but I'm guessing still no contact??vicgfelover said:

The Fox only opens the VIP room on the nights they have a bouncer on duty and I'm told that he sits and watches the camera while you're getting your so-called private dance. I can't usually make it down there on those nights but if I do, I'll be sure to report back.

Montys is appalling
It needs a good douching.....not so clean in there. I was ripped off by the lure of winning a lap dance via ticket draw....the winner was never picked!
I never went back after that.

The Red Foxx can get a little dirty at times too, but probably not as bad as Monty's. I feel bad for the dancers, the Foxx must only clean their stage once a month and sometimes I doubt that they clean it that often. Last week at the Foxx, a young lady wore white stockings on stage...they were black by the time she was done.
I don't bother with strip clubs in BC or AB at all for that matter. "Front row" is 3 feet away from the stage, no private dances, (or airdances where they are allowed) and the girls really aren't that friendly. Gotta get yourselves to Ontario (there are alot of "extra's" to be had in quite a few places) or for the best go to Quebec. Nothing beats the clubs around Montreal. Guess I just got spoiled out there....
