What is Vancouver LE up to lately?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone might share personal familiarity with the general trends of the police over the last twelve months or so. It seems there are far fewer women on the streets in the east end of Vancouver than there had been a year or more ago.

I see lots of LE waiting secretively not far from SW's and they are quick to pounce too.

Are there any laws against walking up to, and talking with an SP on the street, as if you are the neighborhood resident walking the dog, or walking home from the store?

Surely there was word in the news of some sort of a policy change for the LE. For being an occasional visitor I don't know when the change happened or just what it was, exactly.

Does anyone have any suggestions for making arrangements with SW's during the current environment out there on the streets?

Are there areas where the LE presence is not so heavy?

Also, about the "high track" downtown near Richards. Are the tricks resulting from that area as heavily cracked-down-on as those in other areas of the city? It is a rare time indeed when those streets aren't fully stocked.

Please, what about Vancouver LE? What are their new policies that (they think) will slow down the impact of prostitution on their neighborhoods?

Hope we can talk about this here.

As a tourist (or even a local cruizer), the streets nowadays are not recommended. The LE did a good job over the last few years eliminating the tracks and still have a strong prescence there. Even window shopping isn't worth the gas anymore. Better stick to SP or MP.

You're insane to pick up from the street, esp. if you're from a foreign country (ie: the U.S.) . If LE caught you and you are charged, you're not getting back into Canada again if Cdn Customs checks on you. Furthermore, the courts treat foreigners with a bit more harshness than citizens. Also, LE are on the watch for foreign plates - cuz the last thing they want is for Vancouver to become known as a place for sex tourism.

I think the LE generally leaves high track girls alone unless theres rumor of some behaviour that would compromise the reputation of Vancouvers finest. The reason for the fewer ladies has got to be due to lack of business, and tourists. It is a fact that Vancouver will be an eternally fluctuating economy because it is a port city and the people that come here rarely stay and they take thier money with them. Not before they spend some of their money on the ladies that work outdoors and pay no taxes! It is twisted isn't it?

What I usally do is park my car about a block from the SW and walk up to her and talk. That way if anyting happens, the LE can't impound your car. If things work out we will just walk to my shagmobile.
