What does 'start time' mean to you?

Let me toss this one up in the air and see what happens:

On the 'preferred' appt time thread I made mention of this. I think it's worth having it's own thread.

To the ladies:

Do your studios define what a 10:00 am or 4:30 pm start time means? As a customer, I personally don't like being greeted in jeans and a sweat top. Hair in a pony tail and no make up. Just like I expect the coffee at Starbucks to be brewed when they open the doors, I expect the staff of a MP to be completely ready when their shift starts.

Am I being unreasonable?

To the guys:

Does it matter much to you? Do you agree with me that part of the allure of the MP experience is a sexily dress lady? To be BLUNT jeans and a T-shirt remind me of something I see on the street.

I think there are a couple of extreme cases here...one being the casual look taken to the max, and the other being the "piece of meat" look. Personally I like something a little sexier than the jeans, but it doesn't have to be lingerie. I agree that a shift should start when it's advertised to start...meaning the lady is in "dress code" and good to go. I have to be at work 1/2 an hour before my shift to get ready for the day...why should this be different.

Clarification and A Point

Just a clarification on my comments about dress/jeans etc. Hey, I love a gal in a nice pair of jeans etc. What I don't appreciate is the "I'm getting ready to wash the windows/floors look". As far as "looking like a piece of meat". There's a difference btw scruffy jeans/ hot 'dressy' jeans. Just as there is a difference btw sexily/classy dress and a 'tart'. My personal preference is the classy/sexy look.

As far as starting work is concerned my view is as follows: You get paid from a specific starting time. It is up to you to ensure that you are ready to work 'when the whistle blows'. If it takes you 15 mins to put your overalls and boots on, or get out of your jeans and into a dress then you had better be in 15 mins early.

Sorry Jub, but I have to side with Jim on this one. Every place I've worked in my life you better damn well be ready to start working at your specified time. In fact I work shiftwork and usually show up 5 to 10 minutes early to relive my predecessor as a common courtesy. If I had your attitude of geting ready and changing on company time, my ass would be out on the street tommorow. I think these rules should apply to MPs as well. If I was earning the kind of money they do, hell I'd want to work 12 hours a day, which by the way I do often for a lot less. I think it says a lot about the SP and her attitude towards her job if she is constantly showing up late or disinterested in her appearance.
I'm on the side of an SP being sexily dressed. Nothing gauche but reveiling her assets is a definate plus. Hey girls, if you've got it, flaunt it! I still remember years ago when I walked in to the 99th Street massage and was greeted by the famous Pamela who was wearing a skimpy neglagee. I just about had a heart atack and couldn't get in that room fast enough.

I think the hottest thing is to see a girl in a white t with a set of jeans and a ball cap with her pony tail out the back - so no i don't agree with you.

It helps with the illusion of reality and I meet a girl in a t back and a bra it doesn't lend itself to that belief that this may happen outside the studio.
AMEN. i love a girl in a pair of jeans, with or without the ballcap. don't matter to me. i just love a nice pair of sexy levi's or similar on a woman.

On a side note. at my place of employment i'm expected to show up in my streetclothes and change on company time. I'm not allowed to drive company vehicles wearing greasy fireproof coveralls. Not wearing steel toes while driving is my own thing but the fact of the matter is that i get paid to change into my cubbies / steeltoes, hardhad, gloves winter clothes all on company time. As my company get's paid for me to be doing it as well. (it's pretty much an industry standard.)

I instantly became a Layla fan when I walked into Penthouse and she greeted me in a white lace teddy and stilettos. Combine that with her beautiful face, olive skin and long black hair down to her ass and my reaction was a loud "WOW!". She still ribs me about that!

Zoe at Prestige greeted me in a similar outfit and I couldn't keep my hands to myself once we got into the room!!

On the flip side....I cancelled an appointment with one nameless SP because she greeted me in sweat pants and bare feet.

Hey Jub, I don't mean to piss you off by saying that I have to be at work early and ready to go when my shift starts...I just like to be ready to go, so when the clock starts I can start to make some coin. Why wouldn't the girls want to do the same? The longer they are not on the "floor" the less they can make (Unless the have their entire day booked, in which case get to work and take care of the clients that have appointments...)

Here's a bit of an insider perspective on this. I also agree that a girl should be ready for her shift at start time. However, I have sometimes found myself scrambling to get ready at start time. Many of us cannot get ready before we get there because the people in our lives may not know exactly what we do. So we have to go into work with the intention of getting ready there. Then we get there and the phone is ringing off the hook with adoring fand who wish to speak to us, clients coming in who wish to meet us and a boss who wants to rehash how the weekend went. And sometimes we're just running late because we're human. :)

Well, in my case it depends on how my appointments are booked. I prefer them to be booked at least an hour and fifiteen apart so we have a little extra time. Usually sessions are booked an hour apart though. So if you come in for a 7-8 session and I'm booked for an 8-9 session after you, then your time starts at the time you booked. If my schedule is still open after your booked time then your session will probably run a little later. I usually let my clients know when my next appointment is at the beginning so that there's no surprises.

Lilith, I understand what yu are saying, especially the part about having to disguise 'where you go to work' but two things pop into my little mind:
1. Regardless as to where you work, the person should respect that you have to go to work and you have to be there at a certain time, as with ANY job. If they do not know you are going to "work" but just out, then, "Houston...We have a problem".

2. If you get to work 10 minutes before you open and need to get ready, then let the phone ring. You're not open yet!!! I worked in retail and had to get the cash in the register etc. etc. I hardly ever answered the phone, or if I did, thnking it might be the boss and didn't want him to panic thinking I wasn't there, I just said, "I was the janitor and 'They' don't open til___". It may be a lie but any time I call a studio and asked who I'm speaking to, I ALWAYS get, "the receptionist." I think Fantasy MAY have someone answering phones but s far as I know, NO studio has a receptionist. I had customers waiting to get in when I showed up. Jsut told them we weren't open til ___" They asked, how much is___ and I just said, "we're not open til...IF I kne, I'd say but I would NOT stand there and have a discussion. Partly for security reasons and partly because...You guessed it..."we're not open til...Rude bastard aren't I??? Don't worry, you'll love me if you meet me.

Hi Lilith,

You are obviously a very thoughtful and considerate person. It is obvious that you are a true professional who thinks about her clients.

To Candyman,

I've heard that the reason some studios play music throughout the studio is to allow the girls to keep track of the time via the # of songs played.

lol, can you just hear me saying to my clients, "Sorry, I'm not open yet!". Thanks Jim, you seem to understand where I'm coming from. It also seems to be Murphy's Law that a client will never be waiting for you at the start of your shift unless you're running late. Go figure.

My first time visiting Lilith, I happened to walk in Supreme the same time as her and said "Hi I'm your 4:30 appointment".(It wasn't hard to recognize her) There was a little confusion because the girls inside had another guy waiting to see her but everything was straightened out and I stayed for a fantastic session with a lovely lady. By the way, after finishing my shower, I barely had to wait for her to come in and be ready for action.
As Jim said a thoughtful and considerate person and a true professonal. Can't wait to go back and see her again.

P.S. Lilith: I surely hope you don't say "I'm not open yet" in the middle of your sessions. :D

Never thought of that Lilith. Saying, "I'm not open yet" can be taken a couple of different ways lol. And... I SOOOO agree with you about Murphy's law. Bastard...that Murphy!

Just thought of something funny. Hope the Mod doesn't get ticked at me for using "that" word and perhaps I should have thought of a more polite way of saying it, which reminded me of a joke:

A man is getting ready to tee-off on the first hole when a second fellow approaches and asks if he can join him. The first says that he usually plays alone but agrees to let the second guy join him. Both are even after the first couple of holes. The second guy says: "Say, we're about evenly matched, how about we play for a $5 a hole?” The first fellow says that he usually plays alone and doesn't like to bet but agrees to the terms. Well, the second guy wins the rest of the holes and as they're walking off of the eighteenth hole and while counting his $80.00, he confesses that he's the pro at a neighboring course and likes to pick on suckers. The first fellow reveals that he's the Parish Priest at the local Catholic Church to which the second fellow gets all flustered and apologetic and offers to give the Priest back his money. The Priest says: "No, no. You won fair and square and I was foolish to bet with you. You keep your winnings.” The pro says: "Well, is there anything I can do to make it up to you?” The Priest says: "Well, you could come to Mass on Sunday and make a donation. Then, if you bring your mother and father by after Mass, I'll marry them for you."

I'm a fan of the good old be dressed in work dress when work begins. That's totally subjective, of course -- if the SP decides she wants to wear clothes she wore on the weekend painting, then that's her perogative. Of course, I don't find that look attractive in the slightest.

I ride my bicycle to work every day, and with our wonderful Edmonton wether, I can't really wear my suit to work nor can I wear my rain gear over it without wrinkling it all to shit. So I carry it in my pack. Even on "casual" days, I have to be professionally attired (casual meaning no tie). When work begins, I am expected to be preapred to work and be properly attired. Some professions may be different, like the walking fire hazard in his coveralls, but most don't make conventions for employees to change on the company dime.

I can only speak for myself & my agency. When I arrive at the client's location, I have about 10 minutes from that to call my driver and let him know the encounter is to proceed. Only once the driver gets my call that the encounter is a go, does the clock start!
These few minutes give my & the client a chance to meet each other & get a general feeling about whether he likes me and is pleased with my looks etc. If not, then he can cancel at that time, but is advised beforehand that there's a nominal cancellation fee to pay for my time & the driver's time.
It also gives me a chance to determine if he's intoxicated or whatever, so I can decide to leave if I want.
I like this time so we can both get a little bit more comfortable with each other. It's worked well for quite a long time now & the client likes knowing that the time doesn't start until I phone my driver.

Well, they shouldn't be calling 10 minutes early, unless........the agency is short of drivers that night and he has other ladies to pick up & drop off.
Then I think he's only trying to ensure that she'll be back in his car within 10 minutes. It may be that he's giving her notice that she only has a few minutes left, before the time is up. If he's on a tight schedule, he can't afford to waste anytime.

If you like to drink before the lady arrives, I would say moderation is the key. It also depends what you mean by a "few" drinks! 1 or 2 would seem to be enough and then once she arrives, you could offer her one and share your 3rd drink with her. I have often had a drink with a client, but usually only one.

It also depends on how visible and obvious his intoxication is. A woman has to go by her gut instinct. If his breath reeks of booze, and he's slurring his words a bit or seems "out of it", I don't think I'd stay. Booze has a way of altering one's behaviour, and that's the unknown! Some get silly & happy and others can get mean or abusive. Each situation and person has to be taken on an individual basis.
But if you're asking for my personal opinion, I think it's better to have less booze, than too much. Try sticking with 2 drinks max before she arrives. Just my 2 cents from an SP position.

Good day all:

Well been sometime since I posted here, but this one caught my eye.

Re Jim's post:

Let me caveat this by saying that I seldom see SP's, but when I do, like you all I iimagine, I have certain expectations. And having the SP open the door dressed down in jeans and a plain top, and to a lesser degree no makeup, IS DEFINITELY NOT IT. After all, they are providing a service in a service oriented "job" and they should be fully aware of the "dress code", as someone above said. It implies laziness to me. But more so, just as seeing a feminine well dressed attractive woman on the street is a turn on, naturally so is a feminine, well dressed attractive SP. After all, you are not only seeing the SP in an attempt to have a fulfilling time, but is also very much an attempt to fulfill a fantasy scenario. Other wise why pay the big dollars? Having someone (an SP) open the door looking very much dressed down in jeans etc. is very much a mood killer. And setting the mood is a large part of the service. After all, they are not only providing a sexual service, but also providing the accompanying details such as dress, makeup, etc. in an attempt to fulfill the fantasy scenario. I would think this would be common knowledge among SP's. I don't want to see a SP who looks like the girl next door or for that matter a girl looking like the boy next door. *Uhh. I want a woman who very much looks like a woman in her attire. And that means dressing is sexy feminine attire such as a dress or lingerie... Yum! It's all very well when they dress and look like 9's in their pics, but if they don't follow through in their appearance it's like what the fuck???

A while back I saw a well reviewed SP on this board and she most definitely fit the category of dressing down in jeans. Was very much a turn off for me and to be honest, made me wonder how she was so well positively reviewed. Thought she looked pretty plain actually. Then to make matters worse, she droned on and on about how she thought her service was so far above everyone else in Vancouver, and how she thought the scene in Vancouver sucked the big one. Came across as though she was trying to convince me that she was so good. To be quite frank, I almost got up and left because I was getting more and more turned off. But I ended up staying. In the end you may ask, was it worth it or was it a GFE? Yes, it was definitely a GFE. But perhaps seemed a bit mechanical... maybe just me though... Would I repeat? Probably not. Just didn't connect with her...

Ohh, and start time to me means when you start the fun. Not idle banter. Though if the conversation is good I don't mind paying extra. Just not into hearing something I have no interest in hearing... Though in the end I think everything should be clarrified ahead of time. And I did say to this one in email that I liked a woman in lingerie and i got jeans instead. Sorry if I come off a bit harsh. Too many times the illusion/fantasy that one expects and or that the SP promotes doesn't match reality though.

I wish all well.
