Stood up, pissed off and wanting to rant and rave

Just need a place to rant and rave, I have just returned from a 300 km drive and two ferry rides to Victoria.

I have wanted to see one of the local indy sp’s in Victoria for quite a while, last January as I was returning from a business trip I thought about coming back through Victoria. However, the sp was indisposed so it was not to be.

I have been waiting patiently for a reason to go to Victoria but none had arrived. So last week I contacted the sp and asked which day the following week would be best. We agreed on Tuesday and I should call that morning to setup a time and confirm. Well come Tuesday morning I called and a personal emergency had come up and we could not get together, to say the least I was disappointed. We talked later on Tuesday and arranged for a time on Wednesday, she asked that I call on Wednesday morning to confirm that I was still coming down to Victoria.

Well this morning I called, but got voice mail so just figured she was out (should have talked to her, but didn’t). Drove down to Victoria and just before the appointed time I called but there was no answer, so I a left voice mail. At the time of the appointment I went to apartment but there was also no answer. I called again.

As I had driven all that way down to Victoria I did not want to just leave so over the next couple of hours I called a number of times and finally gave up. It is now over 5 hours since the appointment time and still no response.

I do not want to give the name of the sp at this time giving her the benefit of the doubt about something coming up, I want to hear her explanation. I may elect to say after I hear the explanation and I may also elect to put this in the review section then, but for now I just want to rant. Common courtesy says you call when you can’t keep an appointment and say something has come up, she had all my numbers.

So there, I just needed to get this out.

Well you got it out.

Your situation happens far to often. And i'm pretty sure the SPs on the board can relay how many times they get stood up. Part of the hobby i guess.

Its good of you to wait for some input from said SP until posting her name. There is always two sides to every story and the SP in question may have a very good explanation. --- Kev

I am sorry that you were stood up. This happened to me many of times especially with some not so reliable SP's. Therefore I right now choose to only see my regular or sometimes a couple of other well reputation SP's in Vancouver.
I am sure sometimes the ladies have their share of being stood up too when clients call and make the appointments but not showing up without even a courtesy to give the ladies a call. Sometimes personal emergency comes up...

You showed class and patient while waiting for the SP to call you back before you decide to post a thread on Perb board.

Kudos to you

Thats where you fucked up. Should have talked to her before you made the trek to Victoria for nothing.

Sorry it was a big waste of time fo you though. But 5 hrs. I usually get to impatient and fuck the whole thing if I have to wait more than 5 min!!

daryl,

But didn't you stay in the Island and try out some of the agencies there..., there are a few good agencies there now...

But instead, you chose to go back without doing anything special for yourself..?

dufferin,

I think you are correct too, because I had contacted Felicia many times and left many many messages, and got no response from her, and I finally realized that she could have been out of town for a few days and there was no point to call me, furthermore, the potential client might not be in a good time to answer his phone...

dufferin - yeah I know I should have spoken this morning, but I thought since she set the time and we talked about a couple of specific things that it was set. Lesson learned.

bigdman - I was in such a sour mode did not think I would have a good time if I stayed and did something with anyone else. Thought about it while I was waiting.

Thanks for the input

That was me he's talking about, and yes, I was not available. Everything he said is true, we did agree on a time and he was to call and confirm everything this morning. Only after reading this did I know he even called. There was no indication of a message on my cell phone, and only now that I have gone into the mailbox have I retrieved the message. I truly apologise for this. I had just assumed that you had not confirmed and had not questioned my phones ability to function properly. So, acting upon these assumptions, I had made plans with friends for this afternoon. I will not deny my part in this, but I will say that I am very reluctant to wait around for a client after recieving no confirmation call (understand that up until now I did not know you had called). I think it says alot about your personality and notions of respect that you did not mention my name whilst venting. But I am an honest person and fess up to this kunundrum. Prehaps we can work out a session on the house to compensate?

Well its my damned cell phone's fault, so the least I can do is offer to work out a session on the house. For one he showed alot of patience to wait around for so long, and for two he showed alot of discretion by not outright naming this horrible no show SP

What you say here says alot about you and one of the reasons that I want to see you.

So we will talk soon and see if we can get our communications in order and then see if we can get together.

I look forward to seeing you.

Take care

I think this really shows just how much class both of you have. I wish all problems of this nature - and others - could be handled as well as this one was.

Kudos to both of you...

I applaud your effort to rectify. I agree it is above and beyond the call of duty but nice to hear customer service is still important. I salute you.

Good old Mercury retrograde.... screws up computers, land transportation, communication, memos and letters, and all other such things. Thankfully it should be going direct again in a few weeks!

Whenever FRED's (Freaking Rediculous Electronic Devices) used to screw up, my mom would always blame it on "Atmosphereic Conditions"...

Sorry to hear about the situation... but that is very impressive customer service. Seeing Morrigan would be worth the double drive I am sure...

Nice of you to step forward Morrigan! Stuff happens and we work things out.

Daryl: it just goes to show that a little respect can go a long way with classy, honest ladies like Morrigan.

I agree with Mod 2. Things like this happen and both parties handled it with class. With everything's that been going on in here, it's great to see people handle things with integrity.
