SP Retirement

Ok so I'm sitting here tonight thinking. Damn... It must be hard for an SP to leave the industry after getting a taste of the money. There are SP's pulling in $100's and possibly $1000's a day. Can you imagine giving up that much money every day to go to work at Wal Mart for $9.00hr, and have to wait 2 weeks to get your cheque for the same amount you used to make in 1 - 2 hours???
I got thinking about this because we have seen a few SP's retire, and come back a week later. Daisy is confusing the hell out of me with her retirement plan, semi-retirement plan, back in business plan, and so on and so on...
Sexy Jenn retired. So far she isn't throwing a back in business special, but I have a feeling it's only a matter of time.
If an SP just needs time away, just say, "Fuck you guys, I need a break." At least that way, people will know what exactly is going on. My feelings won't be hurt if you say, "Fuck you I need a break." Life will go on, and I won't think any less of you for it. In fact, I'd probably thank you for keeping me informed instead of confusing me with posts of retirement, and coming out of retirement in a week.
Almost every second day you will see somebody ask, "Is XXXXX still around? Does anybody know?" Well no shit. Some SP's are in, out, and back in business before my head leaves the pillow in the morning. You can almost go to bed, wake up, log on, and see that XXXXX has retired, but is back now, and will be retiring in an hour.

"I'll break you guys (financially), I need a fuck"

Yes, hard to walk away from a life you have built around yourself.

Many go and come back. I find it very discouraging and need to hear some encouraging stories. The last thing I need to be is a ''life long" SP.


I do plan on going to school. The start pay is 47.50/hr+ in Manitoba.

I can live with that... lol.

Personally, I tie all of my cash up in bills and investments so I don't miss it/ see it. I stay focused because I live my life honestly, and the 'lying' kills me. Especially to my close family members.

Yes, it's hard to quit at first, when the easy money rolls in.

However, over time it becomes easier; especially when the bullshit flies.

Every client is different, and the monotony, the same old stories, and the whining gets to them, making any exit a welcome relief.

The attrition rate is very high, and unless she has a solid rock behind her to cuddle up to when the going gets rough, it'll take more than Louis Vuitton, Dom Perignon, Infiniti, chemicals or other distractions to keep her on the straight and narrow.

The same applies to most high powered careers; men or women...

I talkwed with one lady who was looking to come to Vancouver from TO. She was very attractive and had a good client list. She said an average year for her was over $300 000.

Yes, and her annual spending probably adds up to $400K...

I believe LE and the fear of LE stings, combined with gimmics of pretending to retire so those guys who have always wanted to visit but haven't, will visit the SP before she "retires", are the reason for temporary retirements.

I don't put any thought into who retires and who comes back because quite frankly for every chick that retires there are 3 that take her place with less mileage, better attitude and are often less jaded.

Probably the starting wage has more to do with where the job is located. For example, working in the wilds way north of Edmonton can net folks incredible money. Well, then, there are also those government positions......

I have done my research. 2 years. Apprenticeship, 25.00 to start. There are a lot of tests. I am reading and studying in order to prepare.

This job is available all over the place, in all areas. I have a long term dream to retire in France, Ghent. Belgium where my family lives, perhaps.

My family is HEAVILY involved in politics and the medical profession as well as teaching. (We're ORANGE ) I had to pick something along the same lines. I am not into politics because I hear way too much about it at family functions. I could never teach people because I lack patience.

Indeed I live in north alberta there's good money to be made on one 3-week stint FAR up north (A small hamlet/industrial hub: Rainbow Lake) I was paid some 3500 dollars + Living Out Allowance of $125 a day for the hotel, how do you think a guy like me, supports this pricey hobby us PERBerts love so much

These are the only two posts I've read.

Okay, so here's the thing... Did any of you ever think that the job may simply interfere with the personal life/relationships of an SP?

In most cases SP's retire/unretire for personal matters and have nothing to do with anyone other than themselves and their loved ones. Whatever the reasons for a retirement/unretirement it does not effet the lives of the clients and it should not be a topic of discussion or a basis for stangers to gossip and complain about.

The personal decisions made by any one person (SP or not) is a personal matter and it it is DISRESPECTFUL to create a situation where people can feel free to gossip and make accusations as to why other peoples decisions are made. SP's do not really need to be kind enough to disclose information when they are retiring/unretiring... SP's make these announcmnets simply as a nice gesture as to not waist anyone's time who may be thinking of booking with the SP, and should just be respected and appreciated as such.

IMHO, it is completely childish to create a debate on the internet and talk any kind of trash about the REASONS why an SP is playing in the pool or not and disrespect the personal choices and personal life of an SP. SP's have personal lives too.

SP's are out in the publics eye and are very exposed to the comments, views, and opinions of strangers 24/7. There is no room for us to keep much of what we do private. That just comes with the territory. But... There is a line that should not be crossed, we SP's respect your privacy... It would be nice to be treated with the same common decency!

However... There has been a lot of, "I'm retiring." and then "Ok I'm out of retirement now." And then a week later, the same SP retires again, and comes back from retirement for regular clients, and a week later, back out of retirement all together. Next month, the same SP retires again, and comes back from the dead, and is back in business.
I personally don't care WHY an SP decides to retire, but it's not really retirement if they are back, gone, back, gone, back, gone, and back in a month span. It's more like a break for a week, then back to business, then another break, and then back to business.
SP's have their own lives to live. I don't care nor do I want to know why they decide to retire, but retirement is retirement. I have heard a lot of great things about Daisy, but saying I'm retiring and coming back over and over is confusing as hell. Say, "Im taking a break but will be back." or "I'm having me time but will be back." At least people will know whats going on.

Everyone has the prerogrative of changing their mind. SP's are self employed and are able to easily come in and out of retirement. Most of us folks with a "regular" job working for someone else do not enjoy that freedom.

Also, money is not what drives everybody to make decisions in their life. I've been rich and I've been poor. At the end of the day it doesn't matter if I have money or not. I am still me inside... Nothing changes that way, money does not mean that much to me... And I'm sure that is the case for a lot of people.

If money does not mean that much to you, then why not retire from being an SP and work at a different job even if it pays less?
