Something strange about rates here

Ok, I've never even been to Victoria, so this is based on what I've been reading, but the pricing in Victoria seems strange to me.

Specificially, it seems that the prices for the agencies, such as Victoria's Eden, seem to be the bottom of any prices charged. Independents charge as much or more.

Whereas, in Seattle, say, the going agency rate is $250. Some of the really successful independents will charge as much or more, but many of them charge more in the $200 range, or less. Specials of as low as $150 an hour are not completely uncommon, among new women trying to drum up business.

The pricing in Vancouver seems similiar, with many independents pricing less than agency or massage parlor rates in order to compete.

So why here are the agency rates the lowest rates there are?

rates

I think there are lost of reasons why the rates in Victoria are so low. I believe one of the factors of indis having higher rates is that here the agencies charge too low. Another factor is the amount of ladies in Victoria who work as sps.

I left cl because I found that I would have to work all night to get ahead. I raised my rates because I believe I am worth more than $150 pre hour. I have never had a complaint of my rates.
I also think that my location is a lot more discreet than any agency here in town because of the amout of traffic coming and going from there locations. One is even on a busy main corner downtown. If I were visiting a girl I would want a clean discreet place to visit her at.
This is my 2cents on the situation.

Plus you have to remember that victoria is an isolated island and because of that they i mean all the agencies and indies really have to cater to the locals whereas other places can cater to outside influences.

Yes, that wasn't my point at all in starting this thread, the lower rates in Victoria, but since that's what you're all keen to talk about: :)

The rates are low in Victoria because it's such a pain in the ass to get to it. People can reasonably travel from 100 or 150 miles away to Vancouver if they wanted to, so Vancouver SP's will be pulling in business from all over. It is reasonable for me to travel from Seattle to Vancouver, 2.5 hour trip, plus however long it takes to get through customs.

However, you can't get to Victoria without spending a lot of money, or taking the ferry without your car, which means you have to rent a car, which means you're spending money. Also you're killing a lot of time.

So Victoria rates will inevitably have to be cheaper than Vancouver's.

I have been considering coming up to Victoria over some weekend, based on reviews I've read of some of the girls. I would not even think about it if the rates were the same as Vancouver's, since why would I bother when I could go to Vancouver so much more easily and cheaply?

So...on the surface it looks like the rate structure in Victoria is upside down compared to other places, but I think it's more a matter of different terminology for the same sorts of services being used.
I don't think so. Going rate in Seattle for escort agencies, $250 per hour. I could come up with a list of dozens of girls who charge $200, and a bunch who do specials of $180 or so, and a few who charge $150 or $140. And one who when she's having trouble getting clients, due to her flakey behavior, charges $100 per hour. And these are all discussed and advertised on the review boards for Seattle.

I could point you to a Vancouver escort who has been charging $100 per hour, widely reviewed in the Vancouver escort forum here.

Now, tell me about the girls in Victoria who charge half the escort agency rate!

however maeghan is the exception and not the rule. More and more of the ladies in vancouver are strating to or trying to bring their rates in line with the ladies in seattle, which means that it is not worth the hassle to drive to vancouver, however the hassle to get to victoria is well worth the time.

Hey Budar,

While I agree with the gist of your post, I disagree with your comment about Montreal. I have visited there many times, and used to live there. (I also visit Toronto and Ottawa where I indulge). While I have not been to Montreal for a year and a half, I always got full service for the quoted price. IMHO the price, quality of SPs, and quality of service (nearly always BBBJTC, DFK, DATY, MSOG) is the best in Canada (and therefore North America). Hobbying in Montreal certainly beats Toronto, Vancouver, and even Victoria, which has good prices but the service almost never matches that of Montreal (now that Tawny is retired). If you had trouble in Montreal perhaps you used agencies oriented toward English speaking tourists. There is (or was) a huge database (in English) of escorts, their appearances, services, and prices on a website. It helped keep the prices and services in line, as did various review sites. You have to do your research there as well as here. Toronto and Montreal are much more oriented toward out calls than we are in BC (thank goodness for us BC residents, but a boon to those travelling east). Now I need to find an excuse for a return visit to Montreal.
