Just wondering because every time someone new ask's something many members jump down thier throat yelling at the to use the legendary search fuction....maybe we should answer the question then suggest that for further info the search fuction may help.....for a open minded board we sure are closed minded to the newbies..

Sorry GP, couldn't resist. Yeah, I hear you...Sometimes the newbs ask a question and they get completely abused. Some of the members who are quick to anger probably don't realize that others may not be very computer savvy or maybe they are new at participating at forums. Really should lighten up like you suggest.

Welcome Newbies.....
I'm thinking that everyone had a 1 in their number of posts column once. Give newbies a chance. I for one would never have a problem answering a question even thought it can be answered by the search button. What bothers me is when someone with no posts sends me a PM asking me about a girl. It's all about sharing information that will help everyone.

I think people like to power trip, thats why they yell at newbies. Who cares, if you have the info, you should share it, it takes seconds to write a reply, if you don't want to share, don't say anything at all. I think there would be a lot more people writing reviews and sharing information if people were nicer to newbies.
PERB is an Empire for some. They are proud of their exploits but have no where to share those exploits in the real world.
Couple that with the desire for some to live beyond their personalities ONLINE and voila internet power trip, which along with online "if I was there in person I would kick your ass" threats are my favorite things.

For all the newbies out there I welcome you and suggest to use the search function to find out about things. If you do post be ready for good and bad comments and prepare for the worst.

I find the search is great when no one is around to awnser any questions.

That's about par for most message boards I've been on, its not particular on PERB.
As for the "real life ass kicking" flame, I did know a guy who, if he received such a response, would name the time and place to "go outside" and even offered to buy plane tickets if the flamer was from out of town. Needless to say, he had no takers.

I can't see why they would ever restrict membership here. It is kind of a badge of honour to get past the first while with all the seasoned pooners keeping an eye on you so to speak.
