Sex Addiction - I guess I am not the only one!

I am sure the subject has been discussed here before but I couldn't find a thread here. Anyways, I used to think that I just like sex a lot, and that's pretty common for every guy.

It took me a while and lots of research to realize that I am a sex addict. I have never had it diagnosed, but constantly thinking of sex, watching porn, seeing SP's about 55 times in 11 months have to be some indication.

Anyways, ..I just saw this article online. I thought I should share it with the community.

I wonder how many people think, feel or know that they have an addiction to sex!

Personally I think other addictions (e.g. alcohol, gambling, drugs) carry more serious consequences.

Campfire, there's a time management axiom that goes something like this...."you'll make time for the things that are important to you". I believe the same is true with money. You'll put money aside for things that are important to you. Some guys like having the latest and greatest of everything. I live a Spartan existence. But enjoy the company of a Lady now and then. It's not just a "rich mans sport" in my mind, but rather a sport for men who want to participate and it's important to them.

I still have to ask is it an Attiction To want what is normal in a healthy relationship. .
Yes you payed for it and that is costly .. but a lot less then being in a relationship..
Having sex 4 or 5 timeS a month where a couple that are in love or just enjoy sex have it 2 or 3 times a day and 5 ....6 times a week ...
You are no where near at attiction leavel.. even masterbateing everyday ..would not equal what some couples do.

We are sexual animal..it part of what propels our ambitions and dream..And drives use to succeed or Fail. And in today's society .every where we look it us about body Image to make ones self sexy and attractive to the other gender....If we are preoccupied with thoughts of sex .. want to watch porn. And hire escorts..it what we do to fill a need.

An addiction is a compulsive behavior that interferes significantly in your ability to maintain a healthy relationship, a job or engage in your usual chosen activities. It is generally not enjoyable. That is what separates an addiction from an activity that you choose to engage in frequently because you like it. sex addiction is NOT an enjoyable thing. its a compulsive obsessive painful destructive problem that takes priority over all other things. I doubt you have an addiction.

I agree with eva5west. Generally an addiction will result in you engaging in unprotected sex as well. Not necessarily all the time, but if you pick up someone on the street and you don't have any protection, it won't stop you. Unless you are being careless or reckless when it comes to sex, I don't think it's an addiction. Maybe an obsession? I attended a support group some years ago because I thought I had an addiction as well. Some of the things people were talking about made me realize I just have a very high sex drive. It doesn't interfere with other things in my life.
