Important public meeting regarding a major change to the Pride Parade route and Festival site!

There is a very important meeting on Tuesday March 29, 2005 regarding the proposed parade route and festival site change. The newly proposed route is down Pacific Blvd to the Plaza of Nations. The festival would be at Plaza of Nations.

Have your voice heard! Please attend and give your opinion regarding the proposed pride parade route at the public meeting that is happening tomorrow night. If you are unable to attend, you can contact the Vancouver Pride Society via email or visit their website: http://www.vanpride.bc.ca

Pride parade 2005

After studying your message and pictures closely I've come to assume perhaps that maybe this parade 2005 is maybe sort of a little bit Gay?

Thats cool. I live in Winnipeg and we had a gay mayor. Great guy. I've come to admire the pride parades actually. very festive. Most communities should support eachother as we're all in the same situation whether we're: gay, a certain minority, seniors, students, single parents. "we" are the general public and should support and celebrate activities such as pride 2005.

Oh and that middle picture with the bare chested sailors? I vote that as being the most gay picture ever seen

Gays are human beings too. I once thought as you did, but I went out in the world and obtained a real education. I learned pretty quickly that there are more varieties of people out there than the ones your parents told you about. It didn't really hit home until a shipmate I knew and worked with for years came down with AIDs. He had been hiding from his shipmates, employers and everyone else. But this guy was just like me and many other people I knew. Another I had known since we were Ordinary Seamen together in 1978 recently introduced me to his partner at his retirement ceremony.

Someday, Virgil, I hope you look back on yourself and your attitudes at this time with embarassment. I know I did when I looked back at me at 20 years of age. You are obviously old enough to get online and frequent this forum, too bad, a litle wisdom doesn't come along with the few years you have. It's time to grow up. The world is an amazing place full of many different people, if only you let yourself see them. There are far too many intolerent close minded people in this world who feel thay have the God given right to make everyone, who doesn't fit their narrow definition, lives miserable. Don't be one of them

Just to make things clear, I am not homophobic. However, I do not like advertising such as gay pride parade, sorry for stating my opinion, I thought you guys were open minded. I really don't mind fags (ooops, sorry, gays ) there are plenty great people who achieved alot, whom I like, and who happened to be gay (i.e. Ernst Roehm, Henrich Himmler, Petr Chaykovskiy and others).
