I hope so too. I don't know who they are but maybe they will be given the option of going to hooker camp. That way they don't have a record.
I think they might have put it in the media now because we've all pretty much forgotten about it, and people may have let their guards down (only speculation). Just a little reminder that they mean business. This to them is serious.
Yes there are plenty of real crimes in this city, but they have different officers(moral's unit) and different funding for each law.
There was a neighbour of this place on CBC Radio this morning, saying she never noticed anything untowards, but she was glad they busted the place just the same. She was worried about gang members coming and going, or finding discarded needles on the street. 
I wish the word would get out there that this was a high class operation, offering high class ladies to discriminating gentlemen. This was not catering to the guys who cruise on Ellice and Sargent avenues. Clients were paying $200 per hour.

Word has it that another SP contacted Child and Family services because of the young children that this SP has, and Child and Family contacted the police,

This hobby must remain a very clandestine and private lifestyle. The SP in question constantly flew in the face of LE advertising her services and her recruiting openly.
Not to be cruel here, but she and her husband deserve everything coming by way of the court system.
I have never had issue with this hobby, in fact I've been around it since my high school days. I do however, have issue with exposing it to children and the general public.
If I could offer anyone in (or looking to get in) the business some advice - Stay low key, don't boast on chat boards, and pick fights with others in the business. Be friendly and offer good service, and cooperate when LE comes calling. Follow these simple guidelines and you will be successful.

I agree, but this whole incident just seems like another clear indication that the government and public at large are way too messed up in regards to the business. How much time and effort did Winnipeg LE use to bring down a business that didn't so much as bother the people in the neighborhood it was operating out of? Winnipeg has a lot worse crime to take care of, but I guess it's not quite as appealing to christians and the morality police as taking down a "sinful" (ha), "evil" place like a brothel.
So then, if prostitution is so bad, why is it allowed in other contexts? If any of those women arrested for having sex in exchange for money were to have done so in a different way (like visiting someone's hotel room), that would be 100% legal. It's ridiculous and wishy washy and there's really no reason to keep this farce up. Prostitution will never go away, because some women will always be willing to provide this service and demand is constant. So we can either waste time and money trying to keep it down (and letting it stay unregulated and unsafe for the women/men involved) or we can knock the morons off their moral high-horse and finally legalize something that is nothing more than safe consensual sex between two adults.
My only other issue with this situation would be the kids involved in it. That was very poor judgment on Sidnee's part. However since I don't know the level of exposure the kids had with what was going on in the house, I guess I can't be too critical. I'm also pretty jealous of her teenage son.

In a better world, sex work would be legitimate, and sex workers would be afforded the assurance of being able to earn their living in a safe manner. However, we all know that the media cannot resist fanning the flames of misconception with regards to this issue. As a result, a large portion of the public holds opinions based upon ignorance, lack of information, or religious/emotional response. Many people cannot determine the difference between young girls being pimped out on the street by gangs, and the responsible operation of escort operations by those that choose to be in the business of their own accord.
So, it seems that pooners and providers will always manage to find each other and conduct business. It reinforces the need, however, for both parties to maintain a pretty high level of tact in conducting their affairs, not drawing any untoward attention to those activities, and keeping things running just below the surface..

I think any place of that nature inside the city limits will likely have children somewhere close.Time out/EB is less than a block away from a school,cmon,they throw that excuse out there all the time,yet they still pick and chose who stays open and who gets busted.
