Hi folks,

A month ago I seeked the service of an escort. I only received a BJ with a condom from her and we did not do anything else.

However, 2 weeks ago.. I started to have sore throat, fever and headaches. My understanding is these are the early symptoms of HIV. I also have one or two red spots around my body after this experience.

Does anyone have similar experiences? Or does anyone think that this can be HIV?

Sounds like the flu. Go to a clinic or see your doctor.

Or go visit a website dealing in health or medical advice. Visit health canada or the CDC.

genzs, if you are in Vancouver, I would recommend you to visit the STD clinic at the VGH first thing tomorrow morning just for the peace of your mind. The good thing is they accept walk-in. Your symptoms sound like precursor of a flu. The red spots could be just some minor allergic reaction. Don't worry too much about it.

If this is the only service you received then the likelyhood of contracting HIV is slim, do not lose sleep over it. However, symptoms are never a reliable way to diagnose HIV infection. Testing for HIV antibodies is the only way to know if you have been infected or not. I recommend getting tested as Magician suggested.

I wouldn't freak out about it too much. You've got the flu. Seeing how you sought the services of an escort, she wrapped your dick up. That means she keeps clean.

Besides you're more than likely to get an STD from someone you pick up in a bar than from an escort (if they practice safely).

The chances of getting HIV from uprotected bj is extremely slim.
The chances of getting HIV from protected bj is close to impossible.
Secondly my understanding is that symptoms don't show up for a longtime.
I would bet my back account that you do not have HIV.
I concur with others.
This is flu season.

I was told by one of the nurses at the STD clinic HIV have a time frame of up to three months from the moment you contracted the disease to show up in test result. I usually go once a month just to be safe.

Let's re-work roadguy's statement

The chances of getting HIV from unprotected bj is slim. Not extremely slim. Contraction via this manner is on the rise, but not just HIV but other asyptomatic STD as well.

Some people who contract HIV experience very strong symptoms, but others experience none at all. Symptoms can occur within days or weeks of the initial exposure to the virus.

The symptoms of early HIV infection can be similar to the symptoms of other sexually transmitted diseases and other infections such as "mono" or hepatitis. They can also be similar to the symptoms of influenza (the flu). Many of these diseases are much more common and easier to transmit than HIV.

If what you write is correct, there is no way you have HIV. (way too many reasons why iit would absolutely be impossible this is HIV)

More likely a cold, and the red spots are your body responding to you worrying too much. (In other words: the spots are quite likely due to stress.)

It's amazing what stress will do the body. But I think the fellow in question may not be satisfied until he gets checked out for all std's.

genzs,

A suggestion, if you're that worried about picking up an STD from an escort than say the last girl you dated and slept with that wasn't a virgin, you are not ready to be paying for escorts.

Call me a skeptic but I doubt the sincerity of this post.
