Hello gentlemen,
I have been asking help on this board already regarding hotel in Calgary. There is a lot of nice hotels but with card access to the elevator, which you guys complain about. I have asked you about nice hotel with no card access and got a couple of answer but it seems like these answer was not the right ones because some people are not too happy with the choice...

So once again, we are looking for nice 3 stars hotels in a convenient area with no card access and decent prices.

We usually get 4 stars hotel for decent prices on the internet but they seems to all use the card access. So, maybe you guys will have decide between the 4 stars with card or th 2-3 stars with no cards unless somebody come up with the perfect hotel ;)

Thanks for your help and hope to hear from you soon !

Some Options

Here are a few options used by other visitors

Downtown = Hawthorn Suites / International Hotel / Best Western Suites

Motel Village (Banff Trail) = Comfort Inn & Suites / Hampton Inn & Suites / Quality Inn University

Airport Area = Executive Royal Inn / Greenwood Inn

Just a few suggestions ... all listed on Expedia.ca

Rebecca stayed at the Mariott - no card access, and the room was great. Not sure how the rates compare to others mentioned, but can't imagine they're much different.

The ladies from Carmen's foxes stayed at the Eau Claire Sheraton.
Very classy and I think accessable without cards too.

I like the Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire, conveniently located downtown.

Nice big rooms, with a "suites" set-up (i.e., with bedroom separate from the sitting / office area).

I like Downtown hotels.
My Preference would be (in order)

1. Sheraton - Eau Claire - Brand new hotel
2. International
3. Best Western

I believe all are without key access.

I met up with Azen at the Executive Royal Inn near the airport.
Since I believe that SPs should have a room with a jacuzzi suite, one could be obtained there for about $170 per weekend night.
And no card access required into the hotel.

Downtown. Downtown.

I don't work or live downtown, but downtown is the best bet to be central for all your customers. The airport is pretty far out in the boondocks.

Heck, even the Hawthorn looks good enough when Niki is in the room :) but the Sheraton Eau Claire is a lot newer and nicer.

Agreed. Downtown is just so much easier for everyone to commute to. Alternatively, it's equally inconvenient for everyone.

Downtown

Try the Ramada Inn downtown...

Low key hotel, not bad, with very reasonable rates.

Hope this works....

Looking forward to some younger I-N girls (Then I'll try your service)

Guys, if I-N starts booking the ladies in the Sheraton or the Westin or whatever, do you expect the $300 to stay at $300?

How much do we want to pay!?

It might be more prudent to keep this just a litle bit more private. No one wants too much attention to those hotels that could be acceptable.

1. Sheraton Eau Caire is best for a suite type hotel.

If you are just looking at basic rooms Downtown then it would be beside the above:

2. Hyatt Calgary
3. Westin Calgary
4. Palliser Fairmont
5. Marriot
6. Delta Bow Valley

Outside of Downtown or near airport

1.Sheraton Cavellier (sp)
2.Hampton Suites on Banff Road.

Treat the ladies nice and give us a better place for our $300.00

Delta??

I don't really care for the Delta anyway. As mentioned you need a card key for the elevator. The basic rooms are the same as a Super 8, realy basic. Junior suite is nice but also expensive. The food/room service are also expensive.

Hawthorne is an older building, some recent face lifting. I do like it for the aprtment rooms they have, nice if you are staying a while. You can cook, refrigerator, microwave, dining table, plates and cutlery etc.

Just curious as I've never stayed in a hotel with card key access for the elevator ... What do you do if you have a lady visit you in such a place? Can you "buzz" her up, or do you have to meet in the lobby?

I'm kind of surprised no one's mentioned the Village Park Inn? Close and easily accessible to downtown. A little older but some remodeling in recent years, relatively good FREE parking, and if you're looking at suites, they have at least one nice big one with a big living room, big bedroom with king bed, and a big 2 plus person jacuzzi.

one added little twist. there are outside doors on the balcony, so potential for a little extra subtlety/discretion in terms of room entry...
