suggestions

I would suggest Yaletown for drinks and would recommend starting at Earls (fun, friendly atmosphere), followed by either Glowball, George or Opus (Great lounges, good looking 30 something crowd, excellent drinks, especially at George) then head over to Bar None for dancing and more of a club atmosphere without the young crowd.

You should give the Plush Nightclub on 750 Pacific Blvd. a go.

Saturday nights are 21+ at C aprice Nightclub (no space) on Granville. I'd recommend this place for dancing but get there early or else you will wait 2+ hours in line...:)

Also, it is no longer called Plush Nightclub. It is now called Gossip Nightclub but it's almost the same. They did some renos to it. Nice place but they don't take VISA! :(

I agree with one exception. I'd either start at Goldfish or Shaken not stirred on Homer.

I have never waited in line at a club. Back in the day I was a regular and knew all the doormen and managers. Today I rarely go out, but I still know the $20 handshake. If you can't afford to tip to go to the front of the line you shouldn't be drinking in clubs. Only the bridge and tunnel crowd or losers line-up.
I agree, I never understood how people can wait in line an hour or 2, when you can just tip to get it. And $20 isn't that big a deal.
Or the guy that will buy the $7.75 drink, pays with a $10, then ask for a twoonie back...Then wonders why the waitress is paying more attention to the other tables.

I don't club much anymore, not in Vancouver anyways, just has no appeal.
When I am down in Vegas, I am always pumped out trying a new club, or going to one of my faves down there.

Fuck line ups! I didnt do them in college days and i'm not about to start now. When I walk into a club I know that I'm going to spend 2-300 bucks minimum so the extra $20 is just two more drinks.
