Krispy Kreme

Well fellow perbert's, I had an hour to kill today, and seeing as I live 8 blocks from the new Krispy Kreme in Surrey, I took the plunge. I questioned what the hell the Wolf was doing in this lineup: For the sake of science. I ended up waiting for 45-50 minutes to get my 2 dozen fresh fried doughballs. The wait was worth it my friends-not the doughnuts(I'll get to that later) There was some serious young and nubile talent waiting in this 250+ lineup! I ended up talking doughnut shop with some older dude in line for the duration of my gawking. The gal in front of me had the sweetest asian mamaries I have seen in ages...34D's? I took the chance to become her new friend, as we tried out the shirts against each other for our spouses. What a rack. Too much. Anyways, I finally made it in to the premises, and was immediately taken by the scale of the operation: Large doughnut conveyor/factory setup, making sugary treats behind the wall of glass. Could these heartstoppers be worth all the hype? Did I bother the employees by leaving fingerprints, and forehead grease on the factory window? Too many questions, and not enough answers. When I was just about at the till, a Krispy Kutie gave my a new born 1 minute old original glaze...heaven...I don't even care for doughnuts either. I quickly ordered the 12 glaze/12assorted special, and was on my way. Awesome. 24hr drive thru. Good java too. I will definately try it again sometime down the road when the crowd dies down, or I'm on a late night cruise.
Cheers:D

Correction, Krispy Kreme is what you get when you encounter an 80yr old SP.

Crap!! I drove by that mall up by 72nd and Scott road, maybe I'm stoned but I didn't see the place. Anyway I'll figure it out tomorrow or something.

I'm not one to make a special trip outta the house to buy donuts, and since I rarely find myself up in that area, it leaves me wishing they puy it in Surrey Place mall.

I assure you, the glazed are 10 out of 10- the assorted just may be Yank doughholes.

Yes, if you get the regular glazed when they're freshly made, they're pretty darned good.

The other assorted kinds are so-so, although the raspberry filled is pretty good :D

Personally I still think Tim's are better.

Krispy Krap, I tell ya. I tried the original glazed before the place opened (friend was doing set-up work) and - well, it tasted like a doughnut for Gawd's sake. They are over-coated with sugar and, once they cool down can almost be gagging. Passed the place at 10:00pm Wednesday and the line-ups were unbelieveable. It's a doughnut store, folks. They will make more of them. And we wonder why there's an obesity epidemic.

Call me lame, but a Big Brew and a apple fritter at 7-11 is pretty damn good, well it makes a good little track snack anyways. :)

Here. There. Everywhere.
Well... I used to go to the one in Mt. Washington just over the border and it was always packed - lineups galore...it's amazing the effect they have on people...

Hrmmm... new idea: Krispy Kremes while visiting your favourite SP...:D

Have not province
I just had my first Krispy Kreme donut today. What's the big fuss? Sure it's tender and soft with cream gushing out when you chomp on it, but I guess people like the moistness.

Yes a Tim Horton donut is a bit too dry. I don't eat donuts. WAAAY to much sugar, escpecially when I had four fillings done last month $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Lions need to get a Krispy Kreme kiosk opened up in BC Place. Gotta agree with you buddy (even though I'm not one to talk in the weight department). Off Topic but I think another reason for the obesity epedemic is obvious at Wal-Mart locations. Can not believe the number of ignorant pigs that can not take a shopping cart (nevermind all the way back) to the wall along the store ot the buggy island in the parking lot. They leave them right in the parking stalls and people can't even park. I saw one fuckin idiot that didn't walk 25 feet (NO KIDDING!!!) to the buggy island and let go, right smack into a car. If I wasn't blocking traffic I would have stopped, got his plate number and left it on the windshield of the car he smucked. I even saw a buggy in the middle of a fuckin HANDI-CAPPED parking stall. My God!!! What is wrong with these moron's heads?!?!?!?! Thanks but I HAD to get that off my chest. Another pet peeve is people parking in the fire lane (AND I DON'T GIVE A RAT'S ASS IF YOU ARE SITTING IN THE CAR) but I won't go into that now. One rant is enough (for now) !!!

If you think Krispy Kreme's are good you should drive a little farther and try Decadent Donuts. They're at 160th and Fraser Hwy. These things are huge and they beat KK's in taste hands down. I drove past it a couple of times before I even noticed it but finally stopped in and haven't gone anywhere else for donuts since.

Same thing in Edmonton Pudgy...We have the Italian Bakery and they have great donuts too. Unfortunately the power of advertising that is lacking by some of the smaller (yet superior) players.
