Hey, have you guys seen this trailer for Kill Bill? It looks great!

I wonder what it is about chicks kicking ass that gets my blood boiling? I'm not bi, but chicks just look better/sexier when they dish out a tasteful beating. Xena Warrior Princess used to be my all time favorite show but now I'm going through withdrawl without it.

Jackie Chan is my favorite actor of all time (doing his own stunts earns my respect) but this flick has Lucy Lui(sp?) and Uma Thurman AND a bunch of goons battling it out, Matrix style. Sounds good, can't wait til it opens, my blood needs some stimuli!!

Your place or mine?
I was hoping for a Quintin Terrintino flick soon (did i spell his name right?). I loved Pulp fiction and Reservoir dogs, and this one looks good too. I hope he doesn't disappoint, good premise on the story though, so it looks promising.

Wow that is a great review! The trailer didn't give away any of the plot so that was very informative. (I was sold on the kung-fu already.)

Thanks Little Alex for bringing it to our attention.

Jackie Chan does not do all his own stunts. This is his stunt double:

Actually the article says that since he has had injuries he 'sometimes' uses Andy Cheng.

If you watch the bloopers at the end of his movies they show him doing a LOT of stunts that no hollywood actor would even attempt, and they often had to stop rolling because he got hurt. But of course the really dangerous ones are best left to proffessionals...

Tarantino sure does like Akira Kurasawa's style a lot.

Anyone know a SP who looks like the cutie Chiaki Kuriyami who plays Go Go Yabari? The animation sequence for her was phat.

Just saw the flick...

One word... awesome! :)

Loved it.. loved the violence... loved the blood.... loved the fighting sequences..... urge to kill growing!!! That and the wish to own a nice samaurai sword.. .*sigh* $3000 kinda blows though...

Yeah the fight scene with the crazy 88's was great. Can't wait for the next one! Got to see the trailers for Matrix Revolutions and Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King... .*drools*

*laughs* I saw a girl that reminded me of Gogo in the audience... *drooling of another kind* But actually she seemed hotter.. . hopefully (not likely but I can dream can't I?) she can kick ass like Gogo.

Loved the anime sequence too... pretty funky. Gotta admit I liked the whole 70's look to it.

All in all, I'd say 8/10 for me. And as a scale I found Lord of the Rings 1 & 2: 9/10, Matrix 8.5/10, Braveheart 8.2/10, Gladiator 7.8/10 (only because I've got high hopes for part 2). Drunken Master II 8.9/10 (that fight scene with the 100 axe gang was sweet!, actually rather reminded me of the battle with the crazy 88's)

Anywho time for bed for me!

Very impressive!

Yes it was great wasn't it!

I loved the part after the fight with the 88 gang, when Uma is going up to fight Lucy Lui, the camera pans the floor below where about 50 people are lying , missing arms and one guy both legs, in various poses splotched with gore and the hostess slipping in the blood in her delicate tiny shoes going "eek, eek", as Uma announced (not verbatum) "those who value their lives clear out now but leave your severed body parts behind- they belong to me now". That was pretty original, I don't think I've ever seen anything remotely comparable.

I also loved the break-dance kinda swordfighting she was doing earlier in that scene and I loved the backflips too! So much to say, I don't know where to start. My only complaint is that some of the fight/gore scenes were a bit blurry and hard to make out and I was like "is that an arm or a leg or a neck that just got severed???" But it moved along so fast that QT probably did it on purpose to make it more surreal.

And Makuro, Drunken Master 2 is one of my all time favs, I loved every minute of it but the step mom throwing him liquor bottles to be a better drunken boxer was priceless and unforgettable.

The preview for the Matrix revolution looks good too, our second preview was Scary Movie 3 which is studded with big names. I hate to admit it but I really enjoyed 1 & 2 and this one looks better. Eek I'm gonna get flamed for saying that!!!!

AHahahahaha I forgot about that trailer.. .yeah I gotta admit the audience all laughed at that trailer... huge names... *sigh* I have to admit I too want to see the 3rd one. (Flame away)

But the one everyone was still panting for the Lord of the Rings!

Hopefully ... well actually we definitely will see more of her Hattori Hanzo she's got the final act to play out. I'm praying it'll be a good final fight sequence.

Yeah I know what you meant about the blurriness.. .just means we'll all have to watch it mutiple times! :p Liked the general of the crazy 88's fighting... liked his weapon. Though Gogo's little toy was.... entertaining to say the least. ;)

Ugh if it was like Jackie Brown I wouldn't even video it. Higher hopes which most of you seem to think the movie hits.

Tarantino films such as "Reservior Dogs" and "Pulp Fiction" were very entertaining. Unfortunately these are only type of films Tarantino can do. It sounds like he just went with the formula he knows best, that is..........rack up a body count.....and have lots of blood. Of course it doesn't always work, "Natural Born Killers" and "Jackie Brown" were crap. I'll take a film like "Monsters Ball" which features a character study amongst the leads anyday over violence and blood. No matter how entertaining "Kill Bill" is i'll wait until it comes out on DVD.

Samurai flicks must be the rage for Hollywood because Tom Cruise is staring in a movie called "The Last Samurai" which should be interesting. www.lastsamurai.warnerbros.com/trailer/index.html?id=teaser&type=windows&speed=56000 I wonder how Hollywood is going to make a westerner a hero in Japan this time. --- Kev

But there was no blood in Jackie Brown.

Natural Born Killers had a lot of dead bodies, but Jackie Brown only had 4 dead bodies.

1) Chris Tucker was killed in the trunk of the car, shot 2 times. We didn't see the bullets enter, because he was covered by the car metal.
2) Bridget Fonda was killed in recollection flashback by Robert DeNiro. Shot once or twice when she made fun of him for forgetting where the car was parked.
3) Robert DeNiro was shot once or twice for losing the money.
4) Samuel Jackson was shot once or twice at the end.

Jackie Brown wasn't a violent film at all. No blood.

I did like Shogun, but a caucasian hero in the east is about as believable as an asian cowboy in the west. :p

We'll see how Last Samurai turns out.

Steve Buscemi cameo

Jack Frost what about Steve Buscemi? Is he hidden somewhere in the Kill Bill films?

I thought that Quentin wanted to work in a Steve Buscemi cameo in all his films. Buscemi popped up as the waiter named Buddy Holly for one line in Pulp Fiction.

Ya you're right i shouldn't have included Jackie Brown in my collection of blood based movies by Tarantino. I should have said "From Dusk Till Dawn." I find it hard to criticize that movie though. The dance scene with Salma Hayek and the snake was worth the price of admission.

Someone who i do like and used in Tarantino films is Steve Buscemi. Who remembers the scene in Reservoir Dogs where Mr. Pink refused to tip. That was such a classic scene. --- Kev

Avatar looks like Angelina.
If GO GO was a SP.

Vivica A. Fox suffered through bad mascara and didn't look her usual bootycall self.

Lucy Liu had a good swearing scene. A profanity version of her earlier Ally McBeal days.

The surprise discovery was jailbait Go Go (she's less than half Vivica's age). Tarantino, and his buddy Robert Rodriquez, have a knack for populating their films with interesting characters that die all too quickly. Go Go took one quick spike to her foot and skull and poof she was quickly and mercifully gone, as opposed to a long drawn out death scene with dialogue. I kept thinking THAT's IT!

Probably from the favourable exit polling, the film marketers discovered the hot little fan favourite that they had on their hands. They milked GO GO in the trailer for all she was worth. She does use an infrequently selected weapon. Chain and spiked ball. Transforming to Chain and bladed ball.

Most of the named cast is already known, even well known; except for Go Go. This could be her breakthrough crossover role, assuming how she masters English.

Go Go has very pouty lips, and innocent downcast eyes, perenially has the "looking for approval" look. Definitely an A cup, so better to keep on the school girl blazer and plaid skirt.

Now that I have seen Kill Bill, I can now go into this thread. I resisted doing so because I didn't want to risk reading spoilers. I loved it! GoGo's "Do you want to screw me" scene was classic! So was the scene in the sushi bar with Sonny Chiba and his assistant arguing over sake.

You guys have to disregard "Natural Born Killers" as a Tarantino film. He only wrote the original story, which Oliver Stone changed drastically. Tarantino has gone on record saying that he hated NBK.

LA.......

I finally checked out Kill Bill, and i see why LA saw it twice....one word.......Go Go, the 17 year old little schoolgirl hottie that eventually gets her sweet little ass kicked. Such a pity. I liked Go Go's look in the film with her crooked nose and her pouty look. Chiaki Kuriyama was a perfect cast for the part Miss Junior Wannabe a gangster Go Go, and i really dug the schoolgirl outfit chosen for her part.

One thing i wasn't aware of was this film being a comedy. The way the arms and legs were being chopped off with the blood spewing everywere. One can only laugh. Like everyone in the theater did. The other memorible scene was the bar scene where shes looking to get sword made by Hattori Hanzo. (It was good to see Japanese actor Sonny Chiba back in American films) I give it a 7 out of 10. --- Kev

I though Uma Thurman looked hot in the film. The sweat, the blood, her messy blonde hair, it all added to the sensual look of bad ass getting even. --- Kev
