Opinions are like a**holes...everyones got one.
Believe what you like, it's no sweat off me. Some seem to think I am bragging when I am only trying to stress how utturly amazed I was by how extreme this country was (only went to Delhi, Agrai and Jaipur, but met travellers with similar stories of other cities - Vananasi, Mombai etc.) in comparison to other impoverished countries. If you think India is for everyone you are sadly mistaken and this was my main point, so buyer beware.
I actually was fascinated by the country and in love with the history and expect to return - just not to poon. Like any place in the world, for money you can see a completely sanitized version, but try staying in backpacker establishments (actually often quite nice inside but in amazingly depressed areas) and you might have a completely different *opinion*. As for the pooning, you might have completely different standards of risks than I, but I wouldn't poon there with triple covers (unless I have $$$$ to visit top notch talent). Feel free to PM me to ask me honest questions or to quiz me to see if I pass your virtuous traveler standards (note the sarcasm in the latter).
Like I said, if you are a more comfort and hygiene sensitive traveler, SE Asia or Central Europe may be more appopriate for you. Otherwise, be safe and enjoy.
