At 60bux a month to use this piece of shit I think it's fukkin robbery for the poor reception, missed calls and text messages that people say they sent and don't make it through, and unless your happy with a pretty plain jane POS phone your u8sually spending like $150 just for the phone.

The "shit all" deals you get to upgrade if your already a subscriber. You almost need to cancel your service and re-sign up just to get a deal on a new phone.

Hearing my phone go "beep-beep" in my pocket once I get inside because I now have voice mail from a call 10 minutes ago that didn't make it through and I know f-ing well I had my phone one me.

I hate cell phones!!!!

I have two:
City Fido-$50 with voicemail
Telus mobility-free evenings/weekends and free long distance between BC/Alberta $35 with voicemail

I generally forward my Telus phone to my Fido during the days. It must be pissing Telus Mobility off that I barely use their product since I got the Fido. Come back, they're saying.

Here in the States I pay $79.00 a month for two phones sharing 800 prime time minutes; unlimited calls between the two phones; unlimited nights and weekends; and unlimited between any other phone on the system.

Last week one of the phones packed it in. Verizon replaced both phones with the latest Motorla internet/camera tri mode phone for nothing for an 90 day contract.

Just received an E-Mail changing my plan to the extent, that all incoming calls are free.

Oh the power of competition.

Wish you guys in Canada had the same unlimited competition.

Got it when they were just breaking into the market - total plain jane Nokia for free, no contract, $20 for 100 minutes any time (other plans available), just added voicemail for $4 per month. They amortize the licence fee, so I was paying about $25, will pay closer to $30 with the voicemail.

The CRTC are a bunch of F#@$*!G crooks! I have many friends like daddywarbucks who don't even own home phones anymore, due to the cheap pricing of US digital carriers.

BTW, you'll soon be getting billed by Rogers who recently bought out Fido. Soon all the neat Fido benefits will evaporate. I've been on Rogers for years though. They're certainly leagues above Telus.

Me and all my fellow SP cohorts use Telus Pay and Talk- no ID checks (all registered as Jane and John Doe's). The cool thing about them is that there are no roaming charges for the BC girls to use them here in Alberta for local calls. $35 for 'genuine' unlimited 6pm to 6am and weekends (P & H prime time!). 'Genuine' unlike Fido's 1000 minute so-called unlimited. We also have local roam numbers we dial and key in the long distance number of the SP's here and make a local free call.

A Telus rep told us we were full of crap about these 'loopholes'. Two years later it all functions.

We would pay a fortune for LD calling, but LD phone cards are dirt cheap.

Last month, I was at 95 hours (cumulative per second talktime for November). Tell me where I could get a billed cell plan for under $50 that could beat that?

Nazi Bastards!! I'm with Rogers on a $40/month free evenings & weekends+100daytime mins. My bill is never less than $150/month. I just found out my free evenings don't start til 8pm!
But yea it's still better than Telus. $.30/min verses $.20/min
Too bad Rogers is buying Fido, I was just waiting for my contract to be up so I could go back to them. No sense now I guess.

not sure how it works but they've already bought fido but the csr I talked to the other day says that they still consider them their competition somehow. Lisa you should call them and see if you can switch plans..I just got a $50 a month plan which gives you 700 daytime minutes and I kept my "early" evenings and weekends (starts at 6pm)

Having Fido recently being bought by Rogers, I doubt all the benefits will cease. Fido/Rogers is still offering the City Fido and it keeps them one step ahead of Telus, particularly their residential services. Gives Telu a real run for their money. Can't beat going mobile as a residential service.
