Single guys.

How much do you spend a month in groceries?
I was talking to some friends, and its amazing how huge a difference between people.
Just curious to see what other people spend.

I voted under $200. That's fairly easy to do if you cook at home and buy in bulk. I actually spend less most months and more on the months when I fill the freezer and shelves.

If you eat nothing but processed foods/instant meals, you are going to spend much more.

What I didn't include is restaurant meals. When I'm dating, I usually feed the person at a restaurant because it takes away that feeling of awkwardness a woman feels if she is eating in your home early in the relationship. Since restaurant meals aren't really necessary, I don't include their cost in my food cost.

I also didn't include the entertaining food. When I do a hockey or football party, that's a networking/social entertaining cost.
You can't eat properly on less than $10 a day...sorry...

I would say between 200-400 per month. That number varies as it depends on what i buy. I try to buy dry goods and meats in larger amounts but fruits and vegetables tend to be more expensive.

$95 for a big slab of strip loin from costco, works out to about $5 / steak plus a big roast.Usually fill the freezer with salmon, halibut, lingcod. Do lots of canning & freezing plus food saver for bulk cheese.Happy chickens $17 each,i've got 3 freezers one for meat, veg& fish, so i probably spend $300 every 2 months on milk, eggs ect. I love cooking so i eat really well.

About $300 and change.
I used to waste a lot of food because I'd forget what I had in my freezer.
Now I actually have a white board attached to the freezer.
I write down exactly what's in there and the date.
Someone told me meats lose half their nutritional value after 3 months.
Still safe to eat, but they also start to become tasteless.

So pooners are willing to go cheap on food but throw $200 at an SP like it's nothing...

Time for people to get their heads examined...
