You can't eat properly on less than $10 a day...sorry...I voted under $200. That's fairly easy to do if you cook at home and buy in bulk. I actually spend less most months and more on the months when I fill the freezer and shelves.
If you eat nothing but processed foods/instant meals, you are going to spend much more.
What I didn't include is restaurant meals. When I'm dating, I usually feed the person at a restaurant because it takes away that feeling of awkwardness a woman feels if she is eating in your home early in the relationship. Since restaurant meals aren't really necessary, I don't include their cost in my food cost.
I also didn't include the entertaining food. When I do a hockey or football party, that's a networking/social entertaining cost.
