How many trick or treaters did you get ?

I was really disappointed. I only got two kids.
Well the door bell rang about 5:30 but I was in
the shower, so I missed them. The ones I missed
would have been the really young ones, who don't quite
know what the hell is going on. Only that they are getting
candy:)
I quess the parents are worried about the H1N1 virus.
Well the Rocky Horror Picture Show is on tonight. I
have not seen that in years. I will be dancin'
with my self.. doin the "Time Warp"

I have so much candy! I spent hours putting them in cute little bags etc... I also decorated my house to the hilt and I am in costume..... I had maybe 10 max. trick o treaters.... :(
It is the crappy neighborhood I live in, and all my neighbors who posted no candy notes on their doors.... sigh

Where Would You Like Me
We were the opposite...usually only about 30, this year more like 75. And they started early: 3:15. (Which means they also ended earlier, thankfully) Lucky the game was over;)

That blows chunks melissa..I know a lot of people are going thru
tough times. But even a bag of those "rocket" candies or "sweet tarts"
are not that expensive. When i was a kid, we would have egged houses
that did not put out. Hey me and my buds were just kids..One lady i
remember gave us an apple or orange, but that was cool. We weren't
hooligans just candy vigilantes :)

I got 45, 10 more then last year. That being said, all but 3 of them could have driven themselves to my house, and I'm fairly certain at least a dozen of them could have legally done a beer run for me on the way over. I miss the years when it was a bunch of snot gobblers, all excited and screaming trick or treat. Now it is all sullen teenagers, who silently stick a pillowcase in front of my face...at least some of them seemed to have the compunction to be ashamed that they were trick or treating the year before they go off to university. Yeesh.

I got about 120. I did notice a large number of houses that had their lights off this year. Halloween Scrooges! :(

275. We live in a nicer neighbourhood, and all the kids from the rural area to the north of us and many from the slums in the inner city seem to gravitate here.

The monster under your bed
I had upwards of 200-300 kids come by
it all started around 530pm
Lots of cute little costumes
I was suprised at the low number of older kids, I usually get a lot
but I do go all out with the decorations, and there are a lot of familys on my street.

Had about 40
But was really surprised about the time range.
Usually I get kids from around 5-8

This year from 4-11
I had a house party that starter later, around 9, but the kids were still coming.

One very strange mom with 2 kids, around 8 years old?
Thought my party was a community party, for kids and came right in.
Without anyone noticing.
Then she saw a couple people smoking weed and was very upset.
So I had to explain to her that this was my home and a private party.

I helped my parents out... handed out candy...one kid had a mask that was oozing blood. That was neat... I think there was about 15-17 kids that came by. It's too bad, because they live in a nice but hilly neighborhood. The biggest problem is that the local malls have stolen the kids away, with the indoor trick-or-"buy from us" treating... what with all the little coffee shops and heated sitting areas for the parents... it's no wonder.

Local communities need to band together to take back the holidays from the stores!

Those apples and oranges probably came in handy later in the evening, when you ran out of eggs.;)

Hell no.. I am from a by gone era where apples and oranges
especially oranges were considered a treat, almost a luxury
for us little "snot gobblers" I was not too keen on eggs tho ;)
These days, you almost have to be giving out playstations or
xbox's to get kids excited about trick or treating.

Good to know that Halloween isn't completely dead.... I live in an apartment and haven't seen kids out for Halloween in a few years now.
