News of Demko having to learn to play with his injury now is quite troubling....

But heck yes excited for the season

They're going to have to do a lot of time management with Demko, likely sign another veteran goalie and bring Silovs up to spell both throughout the season.

He had hip surgery and while it improved his mobility in that area, it likely changed how his knees and ankles function now. Hopefully that change in function just causes him discomfort and isn't starting to cause him chronic wear and tear on his knees.

If we get to Christmas break and we're still in the toilet, that's when I'll start to worry.

Wow,,, Tough crowd,,, 2 games shame already. Alot of trade movements, line shuffling and again No Demko for another month. As i recall last year Oilers were 31st place by december.

I genuinely do not get that the Canucks got rid of some playoff over-performers but kept some under-performers.
I think the team showed that the struggle is not just to make the playoffs but to do well in them.
I do not even begin to predict at such an early stage of the season, but seeing key guys injured at this early stage does not inspire confidence.

Not like they wanted to get rid of Lindholm and Nikita... Hands were tied with cap...and they did offer Nikita a deal with the 5yrs but he had his feelings hurt he wasn't a bigger priority.. They doin a good job this year, no LTIR and by sending and recalling Bains and Brannstrom back from Abby often is allowing them to accrue more cap space for trade deadline....

Returns on Lankinen have been amazing, rest of team still gelin and once Demko back, ship shud settle

Lucky we squeezed out a point off the back of Hughes (who offensively was good, but defensively had one of his worst efforts imo), and Sprong opening up the ice for us a couple times for scoring chances. Including Suters tying goal.

Side note: Carolina has a deadly fast play style, wouldn't want to face them in a cup finals.

Lot of letters to spell 'shit'. They were shit. Pure, unadulterated, no preservatives, 100% shit.


Biggest mistake was keeping Myers and letting Zadorov go to Boston. I don't know how any competent coach could ever look at Myers and think 'yup, I'm risking my backend on that level of chaos!'

The only true hope right now is that the whole team has some 'bug' (lots going around right now) and they're simply sick.

Otherwise we're back to arguing about who to draft with our top 10 draft pick.
