Just thought I'd drop by and say I hope you're all well.
My prayers are with you and your families and I hope your flood situation in S. AB clears up soon.
Here in the Red River Valley we've had our share over the years and know the damage these things can do.
All the best.

Cheers

Daria & myself got out just in time. I woke up this morning in Edmonton got coffee grabbed the paper & thought holy crap.
We had been staying in an area that was evacuated. I just visited a beautiful home in Ingelwood earlier this week that looked right out on the Bow river. I sure hope the person I visited is safe & doing well.
Prayer's as well to all that are suffering from this. Morning news lady was downtown close to China town, a car & a garbage bin was floating down the street. This weather is getting nuttier every year.
Stay safe Southern Alberta & Calgary.

I heard the Saddledome is badly flooded right up to the luxery boxes. Is that true?
The Stampede grounds look pretty bad. Hopefully they can get things fixed by the time the Stampede is supposed to go on.
I realize there are more important things in life but for to have to cancel the Calgary Stampede would be a huge loss.

Hope things improve for you all soon.

I heard a figure the other day on CBC that to they estimate the flood will cause anywhere between 1.5 - 2 Billion in lost economic activity due to business closures.
On the other hand it didn't say anything about the increased economic activity casued by all the money spent cleaning up and rebuilding.

The areas worst hit were Mission and other nearby communities though anybody in a condo above the 2nd floor would be ok just no power untill Saturday.Sunnyside and the east village also got slammed pretty
badly as did the east village and stampede park especially. The 2013 Stampede is a go due to round the clock work to pump out the water and clean the place up.It is far too big of an event for it not to go on.
Throw in the train derailment on Thursday just to add to the misery.
