What's your preference? Is it Bolero in the movie "10".
Jazz? Hip hop?

Maybe none at all.

We did have this in another thread but, always ready to talk about tunes again.. lately I've been thinking Lucinda Williams is pretty F-ing hot, gives me a hard-on just listening to her.

Sultry Soul/blues always does it for me as does certain rock stuff from my past..

Now yoy're into my era(s). Having Johnny Hartman wailing in "My One And Only Love" with John Coltrane providing subdued tenor sax accompaniment has been my third guest in many a tryst. Ditto with the Modern Jazz Quartet ("Autumn In New York"), Billy Eckstein crooning "Tenderly" or Paul Gonsalves literally smoking in a very balladish-tempoed "Over The Rainbow." Oh, the joy of the ballad!!

The big quote would have to be from old Willy Shakespeare:
"If music be the food of love
Play on, play on
Give me excess of it
So I may sicken and so die."

It's amazing, how positively younger guests have reacted to previously unexposed-to music in a tryst environment. Of course, the ever-present red wine and fireplace (in fall/winter) are added enhancements. Ahhhh!! I smack my lips at recollections.

I could not agree with you more, Bigguy! By the way, I do a great Nat "King" Cole impression, and my favorite song of his is Happy New Year. ----Moe

Ditto me in my younger days. "Too Young To Go Steady" was my Nat specialty. Of course we can go on forever with just about anything slow-tempoed from Stan Getz and Kenny Barron, particulary "I Remember Clifford." And the relatively new boy with adventurous renderings of old favorites, Mr. Kurt Elling. Oh boy, I'm ready to pull out my old Selmer and give it a crank right now!

This download technology and custom CD compilation and burning has truly put me in puppy dog heaven.

Vancouver - sort of
Bolero is great but the 12 to 14 minutes on most recordings should be stretched out a bit. LOL

Some of the Enya music is also great.

Lacking the above, self-made compilations are the best.

New music already?

Little Alex has there been so much new music this year already? I could have sworn you started a "Music with sex" thread a few months ago. :)

When I saw Demi More at some place in Richmond (can't remember the name now) she put on some Prince and it was rather nice to help the mood along. This was about 3 yrs ago.

Solomon Burke suits me fine (even if King O got to share it with Saffire first!)

Too Young To Go Steady is also one of my Nat "King" Cole favorites, as are Answer Me My Love and A Blossom Fell! If you are into mood music, don't miss my #1 favorite, Happy New Year-----it is only on the two CD set entitled This Is Nat "King" Cole.

My musical tastes are many & varied. My collection has The Butthole Surfers to Vivaldi, but for session music I like John Coltrane, Miles Davis & The Buena Vista Social Club.
