Does anyone know how much a diamond encrusted rolex watch is? Help!

As many of you may recall, my trip to Dubai was postponed on account of my client's despondence over his prized camel contracting Blue Tongue. The good news is that the camel has made a full recovery. I had a chance to see for myself this week when I had the pleasure of riding it around the ring a few rounds. It was quite the honor as I later found out that my client paid more than the price of a house for this beauty! I had a wonderful time except for the times I had to don a Burkini (http://www.ahiida.com/index.php?a=subcats&cat=20) in the hot tub. That's the first I've seen of it and out of respect for my client, I didn't argue.

I am wondering if anyone here knows how much a diamond encrusted Rolex is.My client gifted me with it as an apology gift for postponing. While I deeply appreciate the sentiment, it is too ostentatious for me and my high morals standards and ethics would grate on my conscience since I feel badly about owning blood diamonds. I am the sentimental sort so I will put it aside to admire the workmanship. I am not selling it since it would not be right but does anyone know it's appraisal value? I would like to know for insurance purposes. The companions here must receive gifts like this on occasion. I'm hoping someone here would have some idea since I'm far too jetlagged at the moment to attend to this matter but I need to do the responsible thing and insure it before my next trip.

Depends on what the band is made of. Go on ebay and take a look. It can be 25k or up to 175k. Take it to a jeweler to make sure it is real though. It can be VERY hard to tell.

Trackstar thank you for the estimation. The whole watch is made of diamonds. I'm so confused since I'm unsure if my client had the piece custom made, rendering it "aftermarket", if he comissioned Rolex to make the piece, or if it's an original "off the shelf" There are just so many different versions on Ebay.

Discretion is of utmost importance to me and I will not compromise it by posting pictures. My watch may have distinctive marks and posting it here would greatly dishonor my client. If someone here has real knowlege of diamond encrusted Rolexes, please post.

If I received a diamond-encrusted Rolex, PERB would be the first place I would run to, because everyone knows that this board is just full of clairvoyant jewelry experts who are capable of giving appraisals sight unseen.

For an item of such high value, you might be better off to call your insurer and ask who they'd recommend to do an appraisal. Just a suggestion... but then again, you seem like a relatively intelligent girl who could probably figure that out herself.

I don't know what I was thinking by posting about my luxury watch in the same forum as gents scouting a bargain. I am flying out again soon as was desperate since I would like it insured before leaving the country. I was sadly under the impression other companions here would have similar gifts to compare it to.

Can't say I've ever received anything like that. But if I had, I probably wouldn't want to advertise the fact on here. You really never know who reads these boards and how much they might know about your identity...


Regarding insurance, you will have to have an appraisal before you can insure it. You can't just insure expensive jewelry for whatever you suppose it might be worth. The insurer will require a certificate of appraisal and a report with detailed information, photos, etc. on the piece. It's to help protect them against fraud.

This is why I am turning away all the clients who have messaged me expressing interest in scheduling time with me. Posting under a former advertised name and Perb just doesn't work well, at least for me. I have reached the level where I no longer have to advertise anyway.

Thanks Sonny. In my childhood, before learning about the atrocities surrounding gemstones and long before I had a concept for it's value, I greatly admired my mother's jewelry collection. I could have sworn the magic box contained every color of gemstone imaginable. While other children played in the playground and scraped their knees, I was in my mother's closet playing with her fine collectin of clothing and jewelry. My father traded colored diamonds as a hobby and when I was sixteen, he bought me a loupe, and my first tennis bracelet. As far as I can tell, the diamonds are real but the appraiser will confirm this.

Some of the newer Rolex lines have lots of bling. Easy thing is to check what is available online at the Rolex Website. See if your watch matches any of the standard models - then go to Monte Cristo or another high end jeweller to see what they have in stock (they might not even have one to show).

Anything with bling will be in gold too which will add to the value. Some people add a diamond bezel (after market) as this affects the warranty - some do not do this until after the warranty is over. Depending on the model - easily worth $20K to $50K (but quite a range). Just google some web sites plus ebay, Amazon and other sites will give you a better idea.

If it is new - you should have all the papers too. Also - you might want to wear it during your next visit with him (just to show that you still have it).
