I read many topics on SP and MP being busted. My question is that do cops go after us, the ones that pay for the service? I don't mean getting hookers off the street. I mean call a SP and they come to your house. Has anyone been busted for having a SP in their home? Are there narcs that pretend to be a SP and when you pay, you get charged?

Prostitution is NOT illegal. Things around it such as communicating for the purpose of prostitution in a PUBLIC PLACE or being found in a " common bawdy house" are illegal.

When the agencies get busted it seems the police sweat some of the customers as witnesses but there is nothing for an escort's customer to be charged with . . . That does not prevent the police from trying to intimidate or embarrass you though

They will however use the threat of public exposure to get you to sign a statement against an SP

well they can probably get your ip address. but then they have to go to your provider to get your personal information. shaw in particular seems pretty adamant about keeping that private and i don't think the cops can force them unless they have proof you were doing something criminal. so i guess just try and protect yourself and the SP's by not describing things too plainly.

Posting in here should only be a potential problem if you

1. Advertise
2. Set up a date on the board

In either case I can see LE making an argument that you were communicating for the purpose of prostitution in a public place . . . Describing past events may aid LE in that they know which providers to key on, but again, prostitution is not illegal.

I don't know whether assisting someone find a provider could run up against the "procuring" rules. I don't believe any LE have ever tried anything against posters on a site. Even if they get your "identity" from your internet service provider, who's to say the posts in question were not made by your co-worker, best friend or crazy uncle??

Apparently. to stay within the law, you just make sure to book the date over the phone and meet initially in private, like a residence or hotel room. This may not prevent the police from trying to harrass you as a witness if they are trying to bust a provider or agency though.
