Next to you

You may not have gone as far as you wanted but you've done more than any other Canadian Tennis player. I'm proud you're a Canadian.

Oh, and I'm sure you'll enjoy the $500,000. You earned it.

No kidding!! Congrats to her for facing off against someone almost twice her age! Good job, Eugenie!!! I hope she takes some time to enjoy the beaches of Australia

yes, congrats to Genie for making it to the Semis.

experience really showed last night, Li Na was making the big shots on crucial points.
I thought Genie could have taken the 2nd set had she held serve. up 2-0, I thought
that set was hers to take. sadly didn't go that way.

the future looks really good for her and can't wait to see
how she'll do at Wimbledon. She won Jr Wimbledon so she'll
be in fine form.

Federer vs Nadal tonight.
both great players and will be great to watch.
hoping for a 5-6 hr marathon before going to work bleary-eyed.

ya! and many more titles will follow if she has the right frame of mind and not get caught up in the hype.
young players on tour tend to get overwhelmed as soon as they start seeing some success.

Genie's got game and an excellent athlete. her mental toughness is probably her weakness for now.
she collapses mentally when games are close and when facing opponents ranked higher than her.
but I like her game and I'd say she could go a long way in any of the majors this year. GO CANADA!

This is true - so much potential for success though. I would love to see her win a major for this country.

Bouchard vs. Sharapova

Thursday at 9am et/6am pt

Am planning to get up early tomorrow to watch Genie against Sharapova, 6 a.m. our time. Two long legged honeys.
That will be a defining moment for Bouchard and Canadian tennis if she is victorious.

With the success of not only Bouchard and Raonic, but also, Pospisil and Rebecca Marino(unfortunately for her, having to deal with the stress of the constant physical and mental demands..while battling depression ended her career far too short!)...as well as, other up and comers like Peliwo(especially at the Junior Level)...Canadian tennis has already climbed huge strides in becoming a World Group force! I know for me, it makes it a little more enjoyable to watch and cheer for a fellow Canadian for sure, especially when it happens in a quarter/semi-final of a major...hopefully a final soon!

great QF match vs Navarro.
down 4-1 in the 3rd and amazed how she strung those points together,
just going for broke, corner to corner.

should be a great match. whatever the outcome, glad to see two Canadians
doing well in the tour.

will watch after my morning jog, make breakfast, fire up an espresso
and watch on the big screen.

an entertaining match but tough loss for Genie this morning…
if only she had converted those 40-0 leads.

other than that, I liked how she just went for her shots, and eventually those unforced errors will come down.
her mental game is certainly there, and that's half the battle in any sports.
should do well in Wimbledon.

go Genie!
