not official yet but sounds like they're just working out details. Not a bad pick for a 2nd round draft pick next year. Should be able to do what Chouinard was brought in to do and couldn't plus provide a bit of a veteran presence. Unless Nonis can grab Sopel or Bryan Berard for a song then I would think that's about it for Canuck moves.

I think part of the reason that this club is being successful is that it has a much better work ethic and discipline than the team of previous two seasons. And there is less attitude and the team plays by the system implemented by their coach. And I think alot of credit for that belongs to the example set by their Captain Naslund. He has changed his game to be more defensive minded and he works hard regardless of who he is assigned to play with and most important is that he doesn't appear to complain about his situation.goodlube said:

I also think Sopel can put in limited minutes as a 5th or 6th D-man. I think he is better than Rory or Lukas, and gives us a little bit of depth in case someone goes down.
Smolinski for a second is a better deal for the nucks though, and I also read that they put Chouinard on waivers.

Sopel is a free agent at the end of the year. If it doesnt work out he's gone. Plus not much left in his salary. Glad Bulis will be gone by the end of the season
