I have not been posting hockey threads for various reasons, but tonights game.....

Colorado came into Vancouver with retribution on there minds. Calgary spanked there ass the night before 7 - 1, and were looking at setting thing straight.

I found tonights game really hard to watch. The Canucks were lethargic and without direction. I give credit to Colorado for seeing the importance of tonights game and jumping all over the Canucks.

I like the work of Brad May scrapping with Worrell and scoring scoring two goals. I like Cooke getting into fist a cuffs with Moore, but what i don't like is the Bertuzzi and Moore incident.

What the hell did 'Tuzzi think hes was doing. This man needs to show the maturity thats needed at the level of hockey thats being played. If the Canucks get any kind of advantage whether it be a penalty or other we all now by now 'Tuzzi is somehow going to fuck it up. And now with this incident hes going to be suspended. Hes such a talented hockey player but sheesh i'm tired of his sloppy play. --- Kev

I was going to post a topic as well about this game.

Todd Bertuzzi is an asshole. Blatant hit and driving Moore's head into the ice. Canucks lost me in 1997. This doesn't help.

Those who are regulars here know I dislike Todd Bertuzzi on a personal level, but for anyone who is still a fan, hopefully his actions Monday night showed you what kind of a person he really is. The man (and I use the term loosely) is not a kid, he is supposed to be a highly-paid leader. But what is his history? He has a record of taking stupid penalties that are usually selfish - he feels hard-done-by, so he takes a penalty to get back at someone without regard for his team. He is being paid huge sums of money to score goals, but he doesn't score - I predicted before the season he'd be lucky to get 20 goals, and it would appear I was right. A lengthy suspension will stop any chance of him hitting 20. His cowardly attack (is there anything worse than sucker-punching someone - especially when you are bigger than the victim?) will also probably set his teammates to thinking just what an asshole the guy is and that alone mght cost them their concentration going into the playoffs. In short - the guy is hardly the character player Canucks management tries to employ. From driving an earth-destroying Hummer, to refusing to honor the simplest request from fans or media the guy is a hostile personality that more resembles a petulant NBA player than a hockey player. His attack on Moore was every bit as bad as McSorley's attack on Brashear. He deserves a long, long suspension.

Well i say CT, Bertuzzi needs to show maturity in his level of play. Or if you prefer grow the fuck up. He is still an awesome player and you can be rest assured that all clubs in the NHL would love to have him in their lineup. I hope hes learned something from this. The media is saying hes real sorry about the incident but that doesn't help Moore. --- Kev

Said it before...

Will say it again.

Nothing special from Canucks until spring 2006.

Came into League in 1970.

12 years later (1982) went to final and lost 4 games - 0.

12 years after that (1994) went to final and lost 4 games - 3.

12 years after that (2006)... all the way baby!

Man what a stinker of a game. That was a real bonehead move on Bertuzzi's part. If he insists on getting himself suspended avenging Naslund at least take out an impact player like Tanguay or Sakic. Losing a top line player to suspension for an insignificant player like Moore is hardly a good trade-off.

We need Steve Austin the 6 million dollar man instead of a 7 million dollar goon. What the F_ck does he have between his ears. Doesn't he think or is he too stupid. Let the guys they pay to do that shit take care of it or is because he is not scoring he figures this is contributing. I just hope all the parents explain to their kids that play hockey that this is not Canada's passion just one F_ck-up for back east.

Gone for 10 games and 300k in lost salary. Really smart Bert!!!

I wondered if there might be some comments this morning after seeing the highlights (lowlights) on Sportscenter. I'm only a slight hockey fan but I do watch from time to time. The sheer brutality of Bertuzzi's hit was enough to put off even the avid fan. capt, the suspension was termed "indefinite" on Sportscenter. And so it should be.

Maybe Bertuzzi can go on an accelerated treatment plan with this stuff during his hopefully long suspension.

Miami BABY!!!!
Was at the game last night...

The sucker punch happend pretty much right in front of me.....

What a cheap shot.

Bertuzzi used to be one of my favorites, but now.... I mean I play sports, i know what getting you butt whooped is like. And I have to admit I have thrown a couple of cheap shots too.... but i know the limit.

In my opinnion Bertuzzi should be suspended for the remainder of the Season and the playoffs.

Too bad too cause I like Vancouver.

I am flying into Edmonton on Friday and I will catch the game there Oil-Van.

Go OILERS Go....

That retaliation may have cost the Canucks more than just Bert. Rumors on TSN's trade mill has both Vanc and Toronto vieing for the services of Ron Francis (Carolina). Francis has a no trade clause and can dictate where he wants to go if at all. Francis is a class act and a great playoff player.

After that nasty incident...... it appears Francis may opt for TO. Only time will tell.

Frank;

Bert shadows Ernie... follows him almost directly behind. Grabs bottom portion of Ernie's shirt... pulls.

Ernie looks over shoulder at Bert who is behind and slightly to the right.

Bert roundhouse sucker punches Ernie directly in face.

Ernie is KO'd.

You can see the hit on TSN.ca

Go to http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/main.asp and select the "Hockey Insider: TSN's Bob McKenzie discusses the ugly incident in Monday’s Avalanche and Canucks game." from the Audio/Video section. (You'll have to register with the site, but its free).
