I've glanced through the thread and I have to agree with macattack5000. I also think that Sherry is an idiot. Where do they live... Fort McMurray? If they really believe that having a brothel in town will attract drug users and sexual predators then I think they need to give their heads a shake. Most major cities in Canada already have brothels in town, they're called Massage Parlours, Escort Services and recently in Vancouver microbrothels (micros). Pretending these places don't exist is naive. Thinking that allowing brothels in Fort McMurray will attract sex tourists is giving Fort McMurray waaaay too much credit as anyone who has visited will tell you...

I live here and Im the first person who wants out of this town. It has its good points but thats only for finacial reasons and because I have established myself here.
This town is no place to raise children, I know what happens here. Parents have to much money and the kids have nothing to do. Parents are so focased on paying for there 500.000 single family homes off they dont see whats going on around them. You name any city in Canada they all have crime but Fort Mac is one of the places with the largest disposable income.

The sites now test for drugs regularly and alot of people have quit smoking weed. Some dont do anything else, some switched to cocaine use because its out of there urine in 24-48 hours.

Only a few of the guys have access to a computer there. Also many of the places on site have children blocks on there computers so men can not visit sites with any kind of adult material.
Alot of the guys on site get hotels but when its busy hotels are busy and the 150 a night at the super 8 is a little crasy to have a few hours fun.. Some just go about it the same way. Go to the bar, hope someone has a few to much to drink and then hopes she invites him back with her.

Yeah, I spent a week there last spring and didn't recognise the place from the eighties...there used to be drop-dead gorgeous girls on 3rd and 4th Avenues all night long. Used to be able to pick up a beauty for an hour and come back for another...now it just seems neutered. Visited a couple of sorry excuses for MP's, staffed by sad bored women. What happened there? Big shiny buildings and fancy shopping centres don't make a great city, people do.

I have personally been to fort mac for work. It is the best place to set up a brothel. One walk downtown will tell you that. I have never seen so many street gals (alot underage, alot wayyyyyy overage) drugs or bar sluts in my life. This town cannot complain about bringing in drugs and criminals, it has alot of them anyway. A legal brothel would be excellent for a working man to go get his mind off matters safely, easily and legally. After that is done off to camp or the motel room for a great night of sex induced slumber. Dont look near the brothel for criminals, just the chance of LE would keep them away, look there for an average joe spending some of his hard earned money. thats my two cents

I have no read alot of the bylaws for Calgary but I have heard you have to live there for one year prior to openning. I have been asked by many people to come different places. Calgary is one however, Edmonton agencies from what I hear are the worst.
My name is out there so much in this town I want to move and get outta here. I have kids and I got into this to try and make there life better. The people on these boards and a small town that is far from doing me any good. Why dont I move? I ask myself that all the time. The above post discribes this town to a T. I worked hard for this agency. I have a good name. I have a good group of girls that make more here than anywhere in Canada. I dont know if I want to leave them here where I am not around to make sure there okay. I dont know if I have it in me to move to another location and have another fight on my hands with another agency that is scared of competition coming in.
Most agencies dont fight a fair fight, they go after your home, your children. It took me a year for the death threats to stop. It took me 2 years to finally stand up for these girls and put my real name out there for people to see.
Im proud of what I have done. Im happy I can look myself in the eye and know Im not a bad person.
Sure girls talk shit about me. Most because I sent them packing. I dont allow robs, I dont allow drugs and Im not into drama.

But seriously...reading the responses, that was reminding me of Audrey Jensen's rants against strippers. Did it ever occur to them that if the crime rate is climbing in Fort Mac, it may be due to many factors such as poor souls unable to keep up with the skyrocketing cost of living there? Housing is at a premium. Plus, there are a lot of single men up there, and a lack of sex is likely to turn some of those roughnecks into raging barroom brawlers.

I think ppl up here are bored. Too many guys live in camp there just a number. After awhile they get a prision additude. There are lots of guys there that call regularly, they dont see girls and I dont think other than the odd phone call to me no one outside of camp would know if there dead or alive.
Some of the women up here make these guys bitter. Who are ya, how much do you make? When do you work cause most of them have 2-3 men to support there cocaine and gambling habits.
Its not all this way though I have meet alot of nice guys. Usually all the shop talk of others make them so parinoid about the women the dont give anyone the time of day...
