Door Mats finally gets a goal - woo hoo. On his only shot of the game, yet. That's perfection, boys. Yeah, he's rounding into form just great. Money well spent, indeed. Face-off for him weren't strong, tho.

People - you can argue all you want, but the reality is the reg season means just about nothing. All bets off in the playoffs. New season. Teams get hot/cold, goalies get hot/cold. This is still the Canuck team that couldn't buy a win in Feb and now they can't seem to lose. Who are the real Canucks?

The Sedins usually disappear in the playoffs, Luongo still can't handle the puck behind his net to save his life and still gives up terrible goals every so often, Kesler and Burrows carry the team right now. Pylon Pyatt is just that, Sundin is still a mystery, Kesler is destined for a career-ending injury the way he plays. This is a house of cards.

I love how the haters try to downplay the Canucks winning streak. lol

Canucks

What is the point with all the Canuck bashing? Can't you just enjoy watching them especially since they are on a good run? Do I think they will win the cup? Probably not but anything can happen in the playoffs. Just remember in 1994, they were the 7th seed and they made it to the finals. If you haters don't like the Canucks, then stop watching them!!!

screw calgary, we can beat them. it's the sharks/hawks that we shld hold a higher comparison

as i've said all along, winning one game makes bandwagons do cartwheels. sure, we beat the hawks 7-3.
Hilarious.
This Douche bashes the Canucks for months, but they win 11 of 13, and suddenly it's "we"

But everyone else is a Bandwagon fan, not him...

Let's be honest, nobody can really say that Mats is worth what he is getting. I doubt even the Canucks would say so. The fact of the matter is, the Canucks had cap room, money to spend and no better options. Has he improved the team? I believe so. Who on the Moose would do a better job? He's doing well. Not great, but well enough to add needed dimension to the team.

Not a bad victory but the powerplay was 0-5, which will cost them in the playoffs.

This one was already answered.

We'll see if he can pull a Brodeur or Roy in the playoffs, that's where it counts.

True, Hubby Bubby, one needs a hot goalie, & already Brodeur looks a heckuva a lot better despite coming off an injury for same amount of time.

.
BJhunter,

I am not on your side this time, Brodeur's injury was nothing compared to Louis' (Brod's only his arm/hand/wrist whereas Lou injured his groin area) - they both are butterfly style goalie and groin injuries will hinder these goalies to spread the legs, ups and downs during the game.

Maybe you were correct (for some fans, the ultimate goal is still Lord Stanley), regular season means not as much, this also applies to Sharks, Bruins, Detroil, Washington, Calgary, etc... we all remember how the sharks played in the playoffs - they never passed 2nd round even got themselves in a president trophy in one year (if I could recall).

At least I'm consistent - I hate the fuckers regardless. The average Canuck fan just jumps on and off the bandwagon depending on how many games they win.

How many of you demanded trades or firing Vigneault when they were on the losing streak? If they go out four straight in the first round just watch the fireworks. They could win 50 game in theregular season and if they bomb out in the playoffs it won't mean squat - heads will roll so don't tell me the regular season means much.

Over the course of the season it sorts the strong teams, but you can't say that over a month or two. And you'd all be lying if you don't have a niggling fear they are peaking too soon.

I've been preaching that all along....but c'est la vie, this is the city of Bandwagons, no wonder I couldn't destroy any more at Canadian Tire...

I believe Detroil, Boston and San Jose peaked too early, there are signs shown in their games lately, very inconsistent on their games -
  • could not hold leads,
  • got blown out big time,
  • poor goaltending...

BTW, Calgary made a trade by the deadline and then beat Philly 5-1 with the newcomers scoring 3 of the 5 goals, then everyone was saying that Cowtown is getting ready for the Stanley Cup parade - the next day, they laid a big egg, got killed by the weak Hurrican team 6-1.

Yeah, as if you are any better than bandwagon fans. You are worse than them. All you do is bitch about the Sedins, bitch about Sundin and pretty much bitch about the whole team and how this is not "remotely a good team".

Even when they win you still find something something to bitch about. It's like they have to go a perfect 82-0 and a perfect 16-0 in the playoffs to finally shut you up.

What a joke.

Calgary and Chicago both looked dreadful today.
Each giving up 5 goals to bottom feeder teams.

Calgary has looked really horrible the last couple game.
I watched both games.
All the top teams in the west are in little funks.

Except the Canucks, leagues best team over the 5 weeks, nearing the playoffs.

I don't like the Canucks remaining games, its way too easy of a schedule.

Maybe it's the result of year after year after year of being led to believe this team will do something only to be let down. Get back to me when their season ends and let me know how pleased you are.

Bitching and complaining will not make the team better. So If you and BJ Hunter truly believe that this team won't accomplish anything this year or anytime soon then here's an idea: cheer for another team.

Then again, it's not like you two are fans of the team anyway

Heh, it wouldn't surprise me if BJH was a closet Leafs fan. He sounds like a bitter Leafs fan every time he talks about Sundin.

dude, have you been reading the other posts? I've even questioned the legitimacy of these 11 wins against subpar teams...why don't you do your research, but i guess that's too hard to ask b/c you've got your head stuck in Gillis & vigneault's ass, since u're so damn giddy over this mini-streak.

It's good, it's a start, but let's not get carried away over their playoff hopes. I'm just setting yr nuckleheads' expectations right, this is the same team that tanked in Jan., has done well in Feb., they're peaking way too early...w/ the same personnel like this goof ball, no name defence, this team won't go far unless Loungo stands on top of his head.

Bc. u know the sedins will suck come playoff time, why can't u admit that?

Yes, I get it.
Your stance on all Canucks related discussions is well known, and has been beaten to death.

I was laughing about the part where you claim to be a fan by using the term we. It's pretty obvious that you are not a fan at all, just a negative little Bitch, a broken record, a less handsome version of Tony Gallagher.... and probably a Leafs fan too. ;)

Sure, the streak is a good thing, but I'm hardly giddy about it. Just like I wasn't suicidal in January when they sucked. This team is exactly what I thought they would be, a good second tier team with some obvious weaknesses. I think most people are realistic about that, but we can still be emotionally invested in our team in good and bad times, that's what fans do.

I'm pretty giddy about it! I love seeing the boys get a taste of victory! Only one team wins the cup, so if that's all bjh gets excited about, then why even watch the Canucks at all  The post season is pretty short for all but four teams, while the regular season is 82 games. I'll stick to the excitement of the regular season and accept any post-season success as a bonus. How can you really state that you are a fan if you only bitch about not being a dynasty team?

Everyone has to understand that the old fart (bjh) does nothing but rehash any negative crap certain media types report on the Canucks and dream of the day that Don Cherry gives him a money shot in the kisser. Yes Perbites, bjh does suck good cock, almost as good as he kisses Don Cherry's ass

boy we gotta watch out coming out of the high from the sharks game. Too easy to breathe a sigh of relief and let their guards down against the 'lowly' kings. They have a pretty good tender in Quick and good young guns! Gonna be fast on the attack and I hope our D can keep up.

Hope the Canucks heads aren't too high in the clouds!

Nothing intellligent to say so u have to refer to some gay jokes? HAHHAAH, you totally crack me up; not sure what makes me laugh, that bandwagon wanna be, Richard Beem on the sporttalk show who pratt&taylor make fun of, the fan who vowed never to cheer for the nucks, or lame-o's like you!

I certainly have a right to bitch & complain about the canucks, is there a law that prohibits it? if u don't like it, pls put me on the ignore list, I know I've got u beat ;)

not sure if i actually admire yr enthusiasm or emotional need to the canucks, it's kinda scary come to think of it. there's been nothing to cheer for in their history.

Learn to accept the truth, reality, constructive criticism if i may. u get all excited over a poonster here criticizing the nucks, fans, etc., i hate to be around if your boss says even a slight negative thing about yr work performance, among other things!!! lol

Well, duh. For me it's as simple as ABC - Anybody But Canucks. Most seasons that's quite rewarding since they play like shit. Lately they've been winning, but I have faith in them. They will crash and burn eventually.

However I don't hate all of them as individuals. I really like Willie Mitchell's attitude, I think Bieksa is playing well now (over his ability) and I love Burrows determination and it's agreat story when someone triumphs against odds.
But the Sedins are the same old same old, Sundin is an over-the-hill, over-paid slug, Pyatt is, well Pyatt, Demitra is just a mystery, Luongo is hot and cold, Salo isthis far from yet another injury, etc etc.
