I got a copy of the DVD Saving Private Ryan for Xmas. I have to say, the opening scene on the beach is one of the best if you have a wide screen tv and a bitching sound system. Ranks up there with the lobby scene from the Matrix and the crash scene from Armeggedon.

Anybody else have any favorite scenes that are particularily good on DVD?

Scene in Jurasic Park where the dinosaur goes up on his back legs to eat some leaves off the tree then comes back down. The bass still gives me goose bumps!!!!

Emerald Forest where the bush men are shooting at the two white guys with machine guns. The sound is super clear.

Roger Rabbit. Scene where Jessica Rabbit sings at the ink & pink club. Ubber clear. Well miced.

Monsters inc. This movies takes first place for colour and clarity.

There's one particular scene in "The Others" with Nicole Kidman where the voices coming from my rear speakers scared the shit of me.

The "Bridge of Khazadum" scene in LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring with the collapsing stairway and the Balrog. Then the opening scene in "Two Towers" with the continuation of the fight between Gandalf and the Balrog - one of the best openings on film ever!

The car chase/crash scene through the shopping mall in The Blues Brothers, as Jake and Elroy keep up a running commentary on the stores..."The new Oldsmobile is in early this year" Just cracks me up.

Brad Pitts fight scenes in the movie Snatch, even though I couldn't understand a word of his Irish/Gypsy accent.

Yeah that's a real humdinger alright. Anyone remember the chase through downtown San Francisco in Bullit, with Steve McQueen in a Mustang. Very cool.... sorry Scubadude, not trying to hijack the thread topic.

Likesdeladies,

Yah, HEAT was a great movie. Particularily that daylight bank robery scene. It was even better in the theater. A real bloodbath though, with almost everyone getting killed or injured. The best part was when Val Kilmer's character was coming out of the bank and everyone else was already in the get away car, and he spots some careless cops across the street. In a flash he goes from carrying a hockey bag full of cash with a big dumb grin on his face, to a deadly serious look while mowing down the cops with his M-16.

Just thought of another one. The Gladiator scene where Maximus (Russell Crowe) takes on multiple gladiators and dispatches them all. Memorable was the trident (pitch fork) part and the double sword beheading portion.

Ohhh... and another good one. Unforgiven. When William Munny (Clint Eastwood) walks into the saloon solo, while the lawmen are in the midst of discussing chasing him clear accross the country, and blows them all away starting with the bartender.

Roadhouse-pretty much every fight scene!

9 1/2 weeks-again most scenes but especially the sex scene in the alley or stairwell or whatever with the water pouring outta that pipe.

Howabout the car chase scene in the Bourne Identity?? or the part in Independence Day where the ship blasts the Empire State building? On a wide screen with digital 5.1 surround, it rocks the room!

Recently saw a re-mastered version of "Apocalypse Now". The scene where the choppers come in blaring Wagner and firing rockets. Awe inspiring.
